Has 2017 been one of the worst years for Blockbuster Quality ?

Just isolating the big budget blockbuster type films

I'm not a fussy movie watcher by any means. Doesn't take much for me to enjoy a movie, i can overlook plot holes, some bad acting etc

But it does seem that 2017 has a higher than usual percentage of lemons with it's blockbusters

Just off the top of my head

Alien Covenant
Power Rangers
Ghost in the shell
Great Wall
XXX return Xander cage
Kong Skull island
Pirates of the Carribean dead men tell etc
The mummy
Transformers last knight
Resident evil final chaptere
Beauty and the beast
Baywatch
CHIPS
King Arthur
underworld blood wars
Rings

I haven't see Spiderman or GOTG2

The only films i would put on the positive ledger are

Wonder woman
Logan
Fate of the furious
John Wick 2

I've just never been so disappointed with blockbusters in one year

Completely disagree with Kong being a dud.

You also forgot about the great John Wick 2.

Also XXX, RE and Underworld we're all burned off in January. I don't think they were supposed to be big movies.

About par for the course for me. I thought Kong and King Arthur were fun, and Beauty in the Beast could hardly be described as a lemon by most metrics.

I mean, did anyone have actual expectation for The Great Wall, XXX, Transformers, Resident Evil, CHIPS, Rings or Underworld?

Logan, It, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Dunkirk, Kong, War for the Planet of the Apes, Baby Driver, John Wick 2, etc; I think the year has been fine personally.

I haven't seen a ton of movies this year because I've got a couple small kids at home. So I may not be the best person to ask but I normally pay attention to the summer movies even if I can't make it to the theater to see them all. But this summer hardly even registered as a blip on my radar for summer movies.

I don't know if that means "worst" year or if I just didn't happen to be interested in much this summer.

It was 90% recycled which can be incompatible with caring.

Yeah, seems about par for the course. Most summers probably only churn out 5 or 6 that are worth a damn. That's why we still remember them. And we'll still remember Wonder Woman, Logan, GOTG2 and a few others this summer.

Beauty and the Beast made $1.2 billion. You may not have liked it but a lot of people did.
