Yep - maybe the best episode of the new series. But how they explain this all in four episodes (especially at the pace Lynch uses) is beyond me. But hey, we got "real" Cooper AND Philip Jeffries this week.

I have a pretty big subwoofer, and that scene with Gordon explaining his dream gave it a true workout. Everything was shaking.

I noticed some of the subtle sound design was almost identical to Eraserhead, especially a steady ticking sound.

That was way awesome. Jack Rabbits did not disappoint. The return of the woman who fell into space was a huge surprise and adds another piece to this big puzzle.

Also, Diane and Janey-E half sisters? I'm guessing their estrangement explains why she's never seen that Dougie even in his old form looked like Cooper.

The kid with the Power Glove is out of left field but I enjoyed it. Will he use it on the Woodsman, evil Coop or that thing inside Sarah Palmer?

And Security Guard James zeroing in on that humming noise. What's behind that door?

After last week I thought maybe people were correct on the Audrey coma theory but now we know Billy and Tina exist in the world I'm as baffled as ever with her deal.

I listen to each episode with headphones and no distractions just to get the full immersed atmosphere. All the hums and electrical sounds made that walk into the woods very unnerving.

All I know is that when I dream of Monica Bellucci it never involves the passing of information.

So my guess is that Billy was the guy bleeding all over the place in jail.

Not as high on this one as everyone else. I still think what isn't working far outweighs what is. Lynch continues to give himself more screentime than any other character, things are still being drawn out far too long and the lack of editing is more apparent than ever (I'm looking at you British glove guy). They shouldn't be adding more character this far into the narrative....especially when the main character has been abandoned.

That being said, a lot of the episode felt like an old episode of Twin Peaks so that was a fun and welcome change. Fingers crossed that continues into the home stretch.

I'd have to imagine the Dougie storyline is wrapped next week, right?

You know one the biggest reasons this episode was so great? No Dougie scenes. That is by far the worst aspect of this new series. I don't even have a problem anymore with not getting "real Cooper" for this long. My problem is that the way other characters are interacting with Cooper as Dougie is totally implausible. People are treating him as if he's relatively normal when he is dramatically thinner than the original Dougie was, only occasionally utters the last couple of words said to him, and is otherwise almost completely unresponsive. He would be checked into a mental health care facility by now in anything resembling reality. The fictional universe of Twin Peaks certainly has bizarre and supernatural things that go on, but characters still react to these things in a recognizable way. No one is reacting to Cooper as Dougie in any reasonable way and it takes me out of the show constantly.

Anyway, this episode hearkened back to classic Twin Peaks maybe more than any other so far. Good stuff.

The music in the series has been consistently great, I'll give it that.

Agreed. Supposed to be a Soundtrack CD released once the show wraps. Day one for me.

I'd love to know the logistics of the Roadhouse music scenes. Were they shot one by one over the course of several weeks whenever the performers were available? Were they shot back-to-back over the course of a couple days? Was there one crazy concert of everyone performing the same night?

From what I've read, the music performances were all shot on the same day, or couple of days maybe.

Twin Peaks Actor arrested for attempted murder. Met this guy at Twin Peaks Fest a couple weeks back - never would have thought him capable of this...guess you never know.

That guy isn't even a tertiary character.

He could have more scenes coming up. He seemed to know "Linda" who may be an important character.

Look at what happen in the last few years due to a certain cult, I would say Lynch is prophetic in this regard.
