What story is that, Charlie?

Sigh. Sorry, David Lynch. Originally, I was supportive of your decision to stick it to the network for not giving you enough money and time to tell the story the way you wanted it. But, this is one case where the studio was probably correct. This show did not need 18 hours.
That said, I did enjoy this episode as much as I possibly could considering a show called Twin Peaks rarely takes place in Twin Peaks. It was nice to see Big Ed, even if all he did was eat. James sang his song again. I think Donna's probably dead. Not sure who crying girl was, but whatever.
Richard had a strange look on seeing EvilCooper for the first time. I'm starting to believe the theory that Charlie is actually Audrey's therapist and that she's lost her mind. Still doesn't explain the Billy thing, but I'd rather have her traumatized than being married to a midget and constantly berating him. The best thing about this season is Naomi Watts.

Better than last week, but that James performance... Oof.
Apparently SkyHD in Germany accidentally aired Part 14 tonight. Lucky bastards.

"no reason pal, nothing happening here" seems to be a pretty good description of the show thus far.

I've been patient up to now because it IS David Lynch, but it's time to call bullshit on this show. I feel like I'm being played with all this nonsense.

It is nice to see people coming around seeing that this has been an unfortunate lost opportunity. I am a very big Lynch fan... but this has been a very frustrating series. There are only 4 weeks (5 episodes) left, and it is completely unfulfilling... so far. It is so poorly paced.
Also, I wonder if any of the original cast members of the show are insulted by the lack of screen time. I know everyone was probably just happy to be back, but still... It is even more strange when those actors were on the covers of EW. Maybe he is saving everything for the very very end... but again... it is very frustrating.
I also really miss the original music cues. There was some last week... but it has been so sparse.

It's nice that this sentiment is finally being shared across the internet. But I imagine the last two episodes will be awesome and then all the Lynch apologists will say that we didn't understand his brilliance in the previous episodes. Bottom line: they chose the wrong story to tell, with the wrong writer(s), the wrong editor and the wrong director. This is like surrounding yes men with more yes men.

I am enjoying the show for what it is, but yes, this all seems like a huge lost opportunity at best, and a rather nasty bait-and-switch at worst. Lynch clearly doesn't care about Twin Peaks and only used the name to get this different idea picked up. I have no problem with him wanting to do a creepy, weirdo show that doesn't make a whole lot of sense (I mean, isn't that what the original TP was?). I think this is a good show, and I enjoy watching it, but feel ripped off by it being sold as "Season Three of Twin Peaks.

Well, given Audrey has been pretty much fucked hard thus far, it really wouldn't be a surprise to figure she would be annoyed with how the character has been handled.
I'm guessing Kyle's only reason to not flip tables with this dougie story dragging on so long is that he gets to be evil Dale

Ok. Ok. Ok. Knows the (ambiguously frustrating) ending.

Man, I know I'm in the minority but damn it I love Dougie Jones stuff! It's great! In front of the pie display in this show was awesome. His face when eating pie I could watch 30 more shows of this with Dougie!
For Audrey it feels like she's either in her coma still or gone crazy, that'll be interesting to see.

It took more than 27 years for Twin Peaks to return to television. With the 18-episode followup season nearing the end of its run on Showtime, could there be another installment of David Lynch’s cult series?
“It was always intended to be one season,” Showtime president and CEO David Nevins told Deadline at the Showtime TCA party. “A lot of people are speculating but there’s been zero contemplation, zero discussions other than fans asking me about it.”
That said, “the door’s always open to David Lynch, whether that would lead to another season, I don’t know if he wants to do it,” said Showtime programming president Gary Levine, who was ABC’s executive on the original Twin Peaks series and played a key role in bringing the revival to Showtime. “This was a Herculean effort. I’m not sure if any director has ever done 18 hours in a row of a series… It’s remarkable what he achieved, fans are liking it and for me that’s what’s satisfying.”
The 18-episode Twin Peaks sequel, which had a rocky three-year road to the small screen, was written by the original series’ creators Lynch and Mark Frost and entirely directed by Lynch, with Kyle MacLachlan reprising his role. It has been a modest linear ratings performer but has driven record Showtime streaming sign-ups.

In Nevins' speak, that means its dead as dead and he doesn't want to distract from the final episodes. He's the champion of running things into the ground on premium cable. If he was interested it would've been done already. And does anyone really want more of this?

I said this exact thing to the GF the other night. "I would like this a whole lot more if I knew this wasn't the end. But knowing that it is, I just want to see more of the old show instead of an evolution that won't continue to evolve."
