We had last year's Ghostbusters debarcle

So i was thinking about a blanket statement "women can't be the lead roles in a good comedy movie" and we are talking pure comedy films, not romantic comedies like Pretty women.

So who can prove me wrong and name some really good pure comedy movies with female leads ? and not co leads, females carrying the whole movie

Came out all of a week ago. After this weekend its gross will be at about $65m after a pretty slight 36% drop from last weekend.

Before that? Spy was pretty decent and I actually really enjoy the Pitch Perfect movies.

I never bothered to finish Bridesmaids, but then I'm generally not a fan of raunchy comedy or Melissa McCarthy.

That said, I went into The Heat blind (because I probably would've passed if I'd known it was McCarthy), and it was pretty funny. Bullock as the straight man was a nice counter.

Does Pitch Perfect count as a Comedy or would you say it's a Musical? I really liked the first Pitch Perfect and the second half of Pitch Perfect 2 was really good.

Trick question there have only been maybe a half dozen films in the last few years where multiple women are the lead and no male leads of any kind. If the Dodger's picked up 6 Minor Leaguers who were Cuban and and only 2 of them turned out to be starters could then one make the blanet statement." Cubans dudes just can't cut it at baseball" would seem kind of harsh.

That said Girls Trip was pretty funny and is multipe female leads and The Little Hours was funny too though I don't think it qualifies for this question cause it's an ensemble films and a 1/4 of the charecters are male.
