I don't know why, but I never really do and think I should just to acknowledge the incredible deeds all of our military do. Even if just a small gesture. I really should think about what they do more. And, so many great war movies, so many great homages...

Anyway, I think I'm going to see The Rock. not that patriotic of a movie. I mean there is a military faction that did stuff and think they deserved better. Kind of anti-patriotic if you think about it. But, I feel like dumb fun tonight and why the fuck not??

I was going to start a similar thread, I might watch Top Gun tonight or tomorrow, but I usually watch Saving Private Ryan on Memorial Day weekend. I'll try and do that tomorrow.

Actually, given the reasons surrounding General Hummel's motivations in the movie, The Rock is not a bad choice for Memorial Day. I just re-watched it a couple days ago. It's one of my favorite action movies!

I try to watch a war movie, or at least a movie that features soldiers, and preferably American soldiers. This year I watched "Captain America", but other years I've watched "Saving Private Ryan" and "Black Hawk Down" and such. I wouldn't say I'm super patriotic, but the day is a good excuse to dip into a focused genre.
