Well, after the really bad start, I was really hate watching the show, the last 3 episodes have been good. Old school Homeland.
But we have just reached the middle point, so we will see if they are done by episode 10, and then the last 2 episodes are crap.

The only surprising thing about Carrie having her kid taken away was that it didn't happen years ago.

And remember when we thought, or the show said, that there was a mole in the CIA, in season 1? And then we thought Dar Adal was the mole. And somehow Dar Adal is still there.
But I respect how he takes care of his people, i.e. Peter Quinn.

Another good episode, except Carrie cry-face for 53 minutes. I know many will say that it was too much Carrie personal drama, but the show needs that or it's just 24. Dar-Adal is essentially taking her down with every means necessary so the revenge for what he did with her kid now along with possibly being associated with the guy across the street will play out later in the season.
And for anyone who watched Two and Half Men, I couldn't get past that the Child Services Rep was Alan's ex-wife. Who also seems to play the heartless bitch in every role she is cast.

So Dar is behind everything, we kinda knew that a few shows ago but now it's all in the open. Looks like President elect will have to make some decisions next show when she has all the proof.

I was doing other things while watching, so maybe I misheard - but during the Dar/Quinn conversation did they imply that Dar is into guys? If so, is this the first time there was any indication of that? Not that it plays any importance to the plot.

Yup that's what it looked like it was implied to me, that Dar picked his 'Quinn's' to train - and I think we know from before that Quinn came from a broken home or something like that.
WTF was carrie thinking drunk dialing the Pres-Elect looking for her to stepping and get her kid back

All the Carrie non-sense this episode was worth it for that scene of her calling the President-Elect for help to get Frannie out of foster care

During the Adar-Quinn conversation it was heavily implied that Dal is into "beautiful, young men" and that Quinn was one of them. Then of course Dal had to absolve himself by saying he never forced himself on anybody.

To me it seemed like it implied Dar basically molested Quinn when he was underage. He did say he didn't force himself on anyone, but still. I do hope at some point by the end of the season Quinn can get back to at least a majority of what he was before. He had become my favorite character on the show, so seeing what they turned his character into kind of sucks. Granted, him being in this condition is a major plot point this season.

The Dar/Quinn "revelation" moment was completely forced and jarringly stupid. What possible reason could there be to just shove that in there out of left field other than to make sure Dar seems extra creepy? It was done with amateurish clumsiness and reeks of lazy writing. My bet is that it will never be mentioned again and all it will amount to is the latest episode of "Peter Quinn: Human Punching Bag," a series which has completely ruined any interest I had in his character.

Maybe the Dar thing was brought up as a means to take him down.

Definitely, and it was completely unnecessary and lazy. Next episode he will be seen kicking puppies while snacking on aborted fetuses.

This isn't '24' or CSI where the show is solely driven by the plot (or like any crap on the Traditional TV Networks today). The show has always balanced the Terrorists threats facing the country, and the turmoil in the characters personal lives. As I said, the earlier seasons did a better job of that showing more of the personal family struggles of Carrie, Saul, Brody family, etc.
