You can probably just start watching anytime. It's like Finding Bigfoot. They're never going to find jack shit.

I've watched from the beginning and yeh like a soap opera you can start anywhere.
Tonight is the 2 hr season ender.

My one big question is these guys have the best tech available and can't dig down anywhere to find anything.

How were the ones who buried the stuff able to make all the tunnels and booby traps and layers and all the other stuff?
That was hundreds of years ago.
How could they dig hundreds of feet down and do all they back then.

Because they didn't. It's all natural material, random debris, and leftover supplies from a century of fruitless searching. Nothing was ever there to find.

Re: Curse of Oak Island jumping on point?

Season 5 started a couple weeks ago and it's still the same old same old.

Still drilling in the same spots and getting nothing but dirt and pieces of metal.

Metal detecting in the woods and still just finding buttons and coins and nails.

I watched the show about Jack the Ripper and the first ep of the Zodiac killer.

I'm done with these shows. i'm still in for Oak but after JtR and Zodiac that's it.

I've never seen this show, but I can't believe you guys have watched five seasons of guys digging holes.

I've watched all five seasons. I was fascinated by Oak Island when I read about it as a child, but this show has proven to me whatever treasure was on the island is long, long gone.

It's watchable because the main guys seem genuinely enthusiastic about finding something, though learn to liberally use the skip button.

About 30% of each episode is a recap of everything that happened previously, so you're fine to jump in with the new season.

I agree, that was terrible. I usually like those type of documentaries too.

I'm watching the Zodiac one (also on History channel). Two episodes so far. I like it. It will be interesting to see what new computer technology can do to solve the ciphers.

However, I'm guessing we would have heard about it on the news if they did solve it. But I still find the Zodiac story interesting.

This is why I typically don't watch these types of shows. I have Zodiac on my DVR however because I'm fascinated by the history. I've caught myself watching Oak Island and I can't allow myself to get sucked in.

Re: Curse of Oak Island jumping on point?

The first episode of Zodiac was interesting but there are dozens and dozens of likely Zodiac suspects that have been identified. The show could go on for several seasons without any answers.
