Episode 13 of 23
I just read recently that Willa Holland (Thea) was only contracted to work on 14 of the 23 episodes this season. That's why she's been MIA for several episodes.

I didn't start DVRing this until season 3, after a binge of the first 2. Was this the first episode to start with a parental advisory?

Yeah I noticed that parental advisory too.
Edit: have to assume it was the office shooting that did it

Worst episode of the series by far. Just incredibly preachy and not in a make you think kind of way, in a politics bludgeoning you over the head type of way. The whole subplot about Curtis being mad that Wild Dog had a gun because "He's a black man and black men like him are more likely to be killed" was so stupid. He's your teammate that you have gone on missions with before, I don't think he's going to shoot you. What is it with Berlanti and politics this season? Supergirl is basically a show about being gay and being alien now, as well as his episode about global warming. Now we have an episode about gun control.
The only parts I liked was Wild Dog's origin no matter how cornball it was and the shooting in the office was really well done. So with Ragman and Artemis gone, and Wild Dog trying to get his daughter back I hope this doesn't mean that the final team Arrow will be back to being Diggle, Dinah and Thea again.

Yeah that was pretty preachy and bad. I did appreciate Wild Dog's origin though

Berlanti always seem to let his shows have one episode per season where they go all political and social justice warrior. It didn't bother me that much this time, mostly because Oliver has been mayor all season and they've basically ignored any hint of politics despite that job.
The Wild Dog flashbacks were interesting. The opening scene with the gunman did feel different than normal Arrow action. It was much less cartoony.

The politics didn't really bother me as it's reminiscent of the old comics from which these shows sprang and their ham-fisted special "message" issues -- Superman says don't do drugs kids.

Tonight, on a very special episode of Arrow...
Yeah aside from Rene/Wild Dog's back story, I did not care for this one at all. Came off way too political and PSA.
They could have made a dark and extra violent episode of Arrow without going into all that Political mumbo jumbo about gun control.

Between Supergirl pushing Immigrant and LGBT rights and Arrow shoving Anti-Gun Legistration... I'm about ready to just drop watching all of these CW DC's series.
I don't watch tv series to be fed political agendas.

When Ollie was talking that guy down in the hospital I kept thinking to myself, "Last episode he would have killed the guy".

I thought of another stupid part of this episode involving Curtis talking about guns. He's upset Renee has a gun and gives his race statistics, but seems to have no issue that the other black man on the team is carrying a gun. Seems hypocritical. I also wonder if the daughter was supposed to die originally and someone at the CW said no way. Sure seems like that was implied before we got the random shes alive scene, especially with the Mom already being shot.

Haven't watched this episode yet, but I had heard that it was going to be the typical anti gun Hollywood rhetoric. Sad to see that that is indeed the case. When will these Hollywood types stop pushing their hypocritical agendas down our throats? On one had, they make millions with their action movies and on the other hand many of them are so blatantly anti second amendment it is sickening. When a show like Arrow takes that stance it is even more ridiculous. A show that has a hero that kills, but it's ok because he doesn't use a gun?

Well, Oliver spent a lot of time training to be able to do what he can do with just a bow and arrows. With a gun, it's possible for someone to kill a lot of people with next to no training.

If you recall he had a lot of training with guns as well, he just chooses not to use one.

Oliver has been shown to be very proficient with guns. Just 2 weeks ago they had him doing a John Wick impression killing a bunch of dudes.

This season can be terrible AND season 4 still be worse. And it is. The new team thing just doesn't work. Easily the second worst season and they have half of it left to see if they can beat #4.
