RIP Debbie Reynolds 1932-2016
Debbie Reynolds just suffered a medical emergency, which we're told is a possible stroke ... and EMTs just raced to the scene, TMZ has learned.
Debbie was at her son, Todd Fisher's home in Beverly Hills and just after 1 PM someone from the house called 911.
We're told 84-year-old Debbie, whose daughter, Carrie, died Tuesday, has been distraught since Carrie's emergency Friday on a United jet.
Family sources tell us they called 911 to report a possible stroke.
The ambulance just took Debbie to a nearby emergency room.
Debbie was at Todd's house discussing funeral plans for Carrie.

re: RIP Debbie Reynolds 1932-2016
Carrie was interviewed on NPR in the last month or so as part of the publicity for Princess Diarist. She mentioned there that Debbie had recently (in the last last year) been very ill to the point of being near death. They fully expected her to pass. It didn't sound like she had rebounded heartily, more like just crept back from the edge. So I would expect the compound stress that normally attends winter Holidays + sudden death of daughter, is going to make it very difficult for someone who is already aged and frail.
And talk about stress in your life- If people don't know, Debbie went through plenty of hell- from the very public Fisher/Taylor business to a late in life marriage where the husband robbed her blind and left her with a ton of debt- at a point well past where she could go out and recoup the money through entertaining.

She was also a huge collector/compiler of Studio memorabilia who single handily saved some significant props and costumes from being trashed by the studios as they cut costs and divested.
She was beloved in that town and her death would not have been just a footnote.
But the circumstances here of course makes it even a more sensational story.
I just hope Todd and Billie are close as they will need a solid support system after this (and for a long time after when this holiday rolls around every year)

You've got to be fucking kidding me. Singin' In The Rain is the greatest musical of all time. For her role in that alone she will be remembered as a legend.
