The plot thickens! Finally got Flynn's back story as well as the details surrounding the death of Wyatt's wife. Nice twist at the end. Really enjoying this show!

Great twist at the end with Lucy's biological father running the show for Rittenhouse. Also, with him being the man on the phone talking to Rufus in 1972.

Yeah some good plot developments in this episode. They did a pretty good job re-creating the 70's.

This was the best Timeless episode yet.

The leads are all great and they've done a nice job of managing their own sub-plots.

Timeless doesn't feel like an NBC show at all.

The odometer type thing with spinning letters and numbers that settles on TIMELESS at the beginning. In the Las Vegas episode it stopped at 1962, the year of the episode. So far they haven't done that again.

Some people were speculating Flynn was Lucy's dad. Turns out they're about the same age. Since they have to stick to years before any of the characters were born, this may be the most recent destination year of the series.

Don't care for the Lucy's history lesson in each episode. We know why the time is important. It's something you see in a kid's show.
"Gee Mr. Peabody. Why's The Alamo important?"
"Well, Sherman..."

I appreciate her recap of history because I don't always remember the details of each event.

You have to remember that television is aimed at very young viewers of the lowest common denominator. A little bit of American history elementary to a college graduate may very well be unknown for an immigrant or foreign viewers.

Surprised no one mentioned that Rittenhouse goes back to 1778 and entwined with America's founding. That is likely how far back we'll get time travel on Timeless unless they go wild or run out of ideas.

Re: Timeless (S1E06) -- "The Watergate Tape" -- 11/14/16

After all these years, finally nice to know that the missing minutes all revolved around "Rittenhouse".

Nice movement on this episode. Good to see Rufus finally tell the others what he has been up to.

Any guesses who "Dad" called at the end? Mom or Mason. If Mom, does she know what Benjamin is up to?

Glad I kept up with this one.

Just finished watching Blood Simple again and it was interesting to see John Getz 30 years later on Timeless.

Re: Timeless (S1E06) -- "The Watergate Tape" -- 11/14/16

I think many thought Flynn wasn't actually the bad guy, not her dad, and it starting to seem like we were correct. I could see the the two teams working together before the end of the season.

Episode really made me wonder when and why Rittenhouse was actually formed. Hopefully those answers come sooner than later.

Someone else can hopefully confirm, but I thought I remember someone in this episode saying something about it starting 1778.

That was the line in the episode. That one person could have been wrong.

There is a litany of conspiracy theories surrounding the founding fathers that involve The Masons, Ancient Egypt and other stuff. How Washington D.C. is designed like some ancient city or symbol. The Egyptian obelisks in major world cities.
This Rittenhouse sounds like another version of the all powerful organization that has been manipulating world events in their favor for centuries.
The "born into it" notion is reminiscent of the uber wealthy royal European families who are supposed to have controlled everything in Europe since the middle ages.

They used that a lot in Sleepy Hollow. When done well it works. Hopefully they do it well if they go there.

Re: Timeless (S1E06) -- "The Watergate Tape" -- 11/14/16

Great episode!

Not only did they use some mystery from the past, the Nixon tapes, but we learned a lot about Rittenhause and the backstory of our characters.

They did well with the 70s, but the setting really was the backdrop for plot this episode. I especially like how they are referencing their previous adventures together, and literally visiting the same location (the boarding room).

I wonder if Mason is the son of the "Doc".

Why did you all think we met Lucy's father in the past. Maybe it was obvious, but I feel like I missed something. Clearly he knows she's his daughter, but it's possible he just called her mom.

Tom Amandes!! Miss me some Evereood.

Interesting how the history revolved around a blank tape, and in the same episode Rufus erased the recording log.

I wonder if Rittenhause was behind the death of Wyatt's wife. Their reach and power could be much more than we initially were lead to believe through their parlor tricks.

Definitely looking forward to next week!

I think an interesting element is that Flynn is from the present and not the future.

A clever way to utilize the lost minutes of the Nixon tapes.

I liked Lucy's clumsy attempt to sneak in through the window, when saving Wyatt.

That was good, although I found her holding the lamp trying to save him so much better.

Good intrigue. Too bad it was the most boring time period portrayed.
