In appreciation of Meshuggah's "I"
I got the CD when it came out a decade ago and loved it then, but I just picked up the Special Edition vinyl reissue of Meshuggah's I:

Is this not one of the most epic songs in the history of heavy music? In a sprawling 20 minute track, they give us everything that makes them great: all kinds of rhythmic asymmetry, absurd metal guitar solo bordering on satire, mellower passages that could be the soundtrack to an ominous dream, and groove that goes on for miles.

Just downloaded this off of iTunes. What a song. Went ahead and ordered the CD too. I just got into the band when I ordered the new album on a whim last week.
