How do you explain your love of movies?
Like I don't tell a lot of new people I meet about my love for them. I don't know why, but I seem to keep it to myself. I mean my friends and family know, but I don't boast about it really.
So, what prompted the question is that my mom will constantly ask, "how do you get enjoyment out of watching the same movie multiple times? I never really know what to say.
I just do and still find them thrilling or funny or terrifying or romantic or thoughtful, beautiful, etc...
There's something about watching the great ones again and new favorites many times. I dunno.
How do you explain it? What's your love story with movies?

EDIT: Didn't see the above post. But glad to see I'm not the only one to answer this way.

Didn't we already have a thread for this topic? Didn't Oldboy make that thread? Or am I just overwhelmed by the inanity of it all?

Has she listened to the same song more than once? Why?
Really, there's no reason to explain a love of movies to anyone. Nearly everyone has some activity or pastime or something they repeat doing. Watching movies is no different. Of course I'm not talking about constant rewatching like a child who watches Frozen (or whatever) every day. I have enough movies I could probably watch a different one every night for two years or longer without repeating one, but there are some a try to watch once a year. I usually watch the Quiet Man and Darby O'Gill every St. Patrick's day.

I'm almost positive we've been here before.
Edit: here we go:

My suggestion: stop talking movies with your family!

You do realize loving movies is a hobby right? Except in your case it's a fetish. I mean the way you feeling about it all and so much secrecy.

I don't try to explain my love of movies, it's pointless. "They" wouldn't get it anyway.
