This is a procedural drama loosely based on the early life/career of Dr. Phil. Yes, that Dr. Phil.
As some of you may know, Weatherly was one of the leads of NCIS for 13 seasons.

Hasn't aired yet on the West coast, but I checked the Bull Facebook page and most of the comments were positive. People loved Weatherly as the title character. I'm guessing most of the sample audience was NCIS fans.

I thought it was worth another look. Some of the stuff that happened in the case was a little too convenient, but I'll give it some time.

Back after the Jessica Alba/Dark Angel experience, it looked like her career was going to leave him in the dust (Honey, Sin City (x2), Fantastic Four x2, endless paparazzi shots). Who knew he'd do 13 years on the top rated drama and now head up his own show? I never watched NCIS but I've always remembered him from Dark Angel. I'm hoping (time allowing) to give Bull a shot.

Alba's net worth is estimated to be around $340 million while Weatherly's is around $15M.

Fair enough, but the majority of that money is from The Honest Company, not her various acting exploits. No doubt she's done well for herself. But my comment wasn't about whether Jessica Alba has been successful. It's about the general mood in the circles I traveled at the time about Michael Weatherly after the end of the series (and their relationship). He's done well for himself as well.

It was okay, seen worse. Wife likes Weatherly, so we'll at least record it each week.

Just finished it. it was alright. I liked Weatherly on NCIS and I'm willing to see how this develops.
So the mother of the jealous girl was the one who killed the Asian girlfriend? How did Bull figure that out? I sort of got that she was the killer when she opened her jewelry box with the necklace in it.
Very reminiscent of The Mentalist in style. Bull seems very similar to Patrick Jane, especially with his ability to read juries.
Anyone notice that Steven Spielberg was a credited Producer?

Curious how he figured that out as well. Doesn't make a lot of sense...

I'll probably watch this if there's nothing better on, but it's definitely not dvr-worthy. I can't help but think of "The Grinder" during the courtroom scenes.

Yeah, they didn't elaborate on that. It felt like it was just tacked on so the criminal wouldn't escape justice. Her husband was screwing the daughter's boyfriend too, right? Or did I misunderstand that?

Still in, I haven't watched a network procedural since Grissom left CSI.
Enjoying this one so far, even though its completely ridiculous.

Cant seem to really get into this yet. And the entire premise kind of pisses me off. The dont seem to be interested in the truth, just trying to manipulate people into voting how they want. If this is based on facts, it says bad things about our legal system.

The U.S. legal system has a lot going for it, but it's based on people with all the failings that come with the fact that people aren't perfect. Some people will care about justice, some won't. Some people in a position to affect justice will have an argument with their wife, or their kid will be hooked on drugs, or maybe their daughter was assaulted by a man who looks just like the man on trial. Bias, ulterior motives, and just plain old exhaustion are rampant. Jury analysis is amongst the least bad things in the system.

It's loosely based on Dr. Phil McGraw's early career, so it's partially fact, I guess.

Caught up with the last 3 episodes yesterday.
If you like legal dramas, the show is okay. Weatherly is charismatic and the character is different from DiNozzo on NCIS. However, the most recent episode "Callisto" that aired on 10/18 was easily the worst. Bull's team traveled to Callisto, Texas to help defend some woman in a drug patent suit. There were some hilariously bad fake Texan accents. No reason for it. Jill Flint, who I normally like, had one of the most over the top fake accents. She played a woman from Bull's past representing the plaintiff. The episode was directed/written like someone who has never been to Texas imagining what people in Texas speak and act like. And silly ending with how the suit was resolved.

CBS Programming Advisory for Tuesday, Nov. 1
The network will opt for repeats of "NCIS," "Bull" and "NCIS: New Orleans" against Game 6 of the World Series on FOX.
Damn it. Now my DVR thinks BULL has been recorded and won't record the show when it finally airs. CBS chickenshits.

I'm a fan of the show.
It's just different enough to be interesting.
The cast being very likable is a huge plus.
Especially Freddy Rodriquez, liked him ever since 6 Feet.
