Lo And Behold: Reveries Of The Connected World (2016, D: Werner Herzog)

Filmmaker Werner Herzog examines the past, present and future of the Internet and how it affects human interaction and modern society.
Caught Herzog's new movie at the IFC Center in Manhattan last night. Like most of his films, people in the audience started chuckling as soon as he spoke, but there was a fair bit of humor in the documentary. The film attempts to tell multiple viewpoints of the Internet and the future of technology, in different chapters.

He charts the beginning of the Internet, and then delves into the bad side of the net (people spreading death photos of an interviewee's daughter), highlights a society that says they're allergic to radio/cell waves, and showcases self-driving cars and robots.

It's a sprawling epic that doesn't really contain a single narrative like some of Herzog's other films like Cave of Forgotten Dreams, and because of that it feels a bit unfocused. But it's Herzog, so it's never bad. Is it a must-see? I don't know about that, but if you're a fan of the director and want to support him, then it's worth checking out. It definitely makes you think, which is the hallmark of any good film.

Yeah, I watched this a couple of weeks via VOD and thought it was excellent.
