Saving Silverman and Sex Drive are both underrated cheesy movies, IMO.

Raising Arizona is a god damned classic.

Re: Comedy Movies Hidden Gems

"Popular" *when*? I can give you a list of good comedy films going back to the 30s. Most of the ones I'd call "good" were made between 1925 and 1990 or so.

A good place to start is with AFI's "100 Years, 100 Laughs" list:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFI%27...s...100_Laughs

While it has several I, personally, don't find all that "funny" these are all "classics" and should be seen at least once.

In the "External links" section is a link to the 500 nominated films (in pdf format). Another good place to start.

Brain Donors (1992) is under appreciated.

Yes! UHF sounds like what your looking for... if you haven't seen it already. Tremors? It's not ROFL, but it is entertaining and humorous.

Oh, and someone said Freaked which I agree is also very corny and quite fun.

If you haven't seen Brewster's Millions, I really recommend it. Pryor is great in it and it's always good for laughs.

I always liked Easy Money.

It's a bit rough production-wise but the one liners are top notch.

The Kentucky Fried Movie (1977). It's an hilarious sketch comedy film directed by John Landis and written by the guys who did Airplane! and The Naked Gun. The film contains some of the most politically incorrect humor you'll likely ever see in any movie.

Funny Bones. More drama than comedy, but the comedy is killer.

IMHO Kentucky Fried Movie is half-funny - the first half. Outside of the "Detroit" line, the second half of the movie's kung fu spoof is painfully unfunny. The first half though it great.

I love the whole Fistful of Yen section. The toy robot is my favorite part.

"Amazon Women on the Moon" is a sort-of sequel to Kentucky Fried Movie which satirizes late-night TV. It too is rather hit-and-miss but there are quite a few funny bits.

Another Zucker Bros recommendation would be "Top Secret!" with Val Kilmer which is a send-up of WWII espionage thrillers and 50s rock & roll.
