Favorite movies that bombed in theaters?

With all this talk about this years' summer (2016) bombs I thought this would be an interesting question.

Most recently for me: The Nice Guys

I know there are many others that I'm sure this thread will uncover...

Dark City and Fight Club

Mulholland Drive didn't break even in theaters either so that too.

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. Although I love the movie, I think it deserved to bomb since it was advertised to the wrong people as something it was not.

Not sure if it was a certified bomb or not, but I remember seeing Ed Wood opening night and there only being three other people in this enormous theatre.

Don't know if I can put Pacific Rim on the list, since it's getting a sequel and was turned into a hit by overseas $$$.

I was going to post this...that movie has aged very well. It's one of Lynch's best, although it was panned at the time. I saw it THREE times in the theater.

Re: Favorite movies that bombed in theaters?

I am not totally sure you can say 5th Element bombed (made $63 million domestically), but that is not exactly a huge hit. Adjusted that is nearly $100 million. I guess I felt it just didn't get the credit it deserved back then.

That seemed like it was a nice decent amount in that time.
