TV Networks to expand on-demand to battle cord-cutting

Yahoo News Today(8-22) has an article titled -TV Networks expand on-demand offerings to fight cord-cutting.

I wonder what CBS will offer since they do have the pay service CBS All-Access?

Looks like more episodes of shows(instead of the usual five per show).

I will admit that Direct TV's on-demand is a pain in the ass.

*TV* networks don't have much to worry about with cord-cutting since you've never needed the "cord" to watch them. But presentation-wise, they're still unwatchable currently.

You'd be surprised how many people don't realize they can get local channels over the air with an antenna. And if they do, there's the added confusion about how to record them since most people time-shift what they watch these days.

Yeah, I've heard of people not even HAVING any antenna hooked to their TVs. WTF, you can get one for about $5. It's especially a waste for the satellite services to carry local stations given how much their bandwidth is already limited and they have to overcompress everything. One local station was running a crawl all day saying that "Dish" was taking them off soon, like that would matter at all to me- even if I had Dish, I'd still be watching that station over the air.
