The Christopher Lambert appreciation thread
I always had a soft spot for him. I haven't seen Greystroke yet but have heard good things. Highlander is a classic. I also really enjoyed The Hunted(come on its a modern day Samurai/Ninja movie that should really have a bigger following). Mortal Kombat gave him his second iconic role in Lord Raiden. The Road Killers was a fun movie and has was Fortress. He always seemed to have a real everyman charisma about him. He also got to bang Diane Lane when she was hot so there's that even though I never got to see Knight Moves or that genie movie they did together.
The weird thing is that after MK was a hit he mainly slipped into straight to DVD hell only doing Highlander sequels until being back on the big screen in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and Hail Caesar!
So what's your opinion of him?

Never thought much of his acting. I recently saw Clair Denis' White Material and he was good in that. Probably helps that Denis is a great director and he was acting in his native French.

I watched GREYSTOKE recently for the first time since it came out and I was really impressed with his performance throughout. The movie dragged quite a bit when they brought Tarzan back to England, but that wasn't Lambert's fault. The first 70 minutes, showing Tarzan living among the apes and communicating with them, with the apes all played by actors in makeup who'd done extensive rehearsal and training in ape movements and sounds, constitute some of the best filmed Tarzan I've ever seen. The newest Hollywood Tarzan movie pales in comparison with its CGI apes. I must confess I haven't seen much else that Lambert's done, not even THE HUNTED, although it sounds like it would be up my alley.

One of my favorite films of that decade.

I've always liked him. I saw Greystoke at the Million Dollar Theater in DTLA when I was a kid. I think my Top 5 favorite films of his are:
Highlander
Knight Moves
The Hunted
Subway
Fortress
The Road Killers and Gunmen are also fun as hell.

Ha, I'm probably one of the few that enjoyed both of those movies. Also, Knight Moves was pretty good for "B" movie fare. I finally offer one more that people should go see and that would be Subway (which is a French movie but there is a French region free Blu-ray that people can track down). He's not a good actor per-say but he is certainly an entertaining one.
Edit:
It helps if I read all the posts, lol. I'd say that is pretty close to mine but take out The Hunted (only cause I didn't see it) and insert Mortal Kombat.

I also gotta give the man props he was banging away at Diane Lane in her youthful prime. After her, he went on to bang Sophie Marceau. Dude gets some nice trim.
