I'm really impressed by Tarzan's staying power. WB probably would have had a hit if not for the ridiculous budget.

Considering the direct competition, Finding Dory held OK.

I saw Central Intelligence 2 weeks ago. It's actually done pretty well for really not much buzz. Seemed like no one, including the press, was really talking about it. It's been a low key hit for WB.

FOX has to be really disappointed with Independence Day: Resurgence.

It's doing well enough overseas (well enough that they should wind up coming close to breaking even or at least not taking a huge hit), but it's certainly not the franchise tentpole they were hoping for.

I wouldnt be surprised if BFG gets a title makeover (ala Edge of Tomorrow,Live/Die/Repeat) when it comes out on home viewing.

Yeah, Big Fucking Gun is hugely misleading. I went in thinking it was a Doom sequel

It dropped 46% in its second week. What is there to be impressed with?

46% is rather good. I would've expected somewhere in the 60s.

I wonder if the timing hurt it to some extent. To me, it looked a lot more like a Christmas season movie than a summer movie.

Problem is Disney has Star Wars: Rogue One coming out at that time. Of course, Thanksgiving could've worked.

This. Considering the average summer movie typically drops 60% a 46% drop for Tarzan is pretty phenomenal. Too bad it didn't open higher.
