Universal - 8 film Hammer collection - 9/13/16
Newly added to Amazon.
No list of movies there, but just from what Universal has the rights to, we're looking at:
Brides of Dracula
Curse of the Werewolf
Phantom of the Opera
Paranoiac
Kiss of the Vampire
Nightmare
Night Creatures
Evil of Frankenstein
via blu-ray.com

I was thinking about buying the DVD set since Universal rereleased the Hammer set on single discs and not flippers. I'm glad I waited.

I've been eagerly awaiting Warner Bros. to announce the release of their remaining Hammer titles and was greeted with this news. I won't be waiting to pick this up—it's an immediate purchase for me. This has me wondering whether Paramount will make the few titles in its catalog available for Warner Bros to distribute as well. Hammer's "Revenge of Frankenstein" is likely to be licensed out to Twilight Time if Sony still maintains the rights.
Now we need the best titles in the Amicus library to make it to Blu-ray.

Here's hoping for something in October! I wonder if Warner would release another Hammer collection themselves or if they'd distribute them via Warner Archive as they have with so many other films this year.

I read somewhere that both Horror of Dracula and Curse of Frank were being cleaned up for BD release.
Universal also has Hammer film Shadow of The Cat which has never gotten a U.S. release. There's an R2 DVD but French subtitles can't be removed. This set will probably be the eight in OP'S list because they were remastered in HD for the DVD release and no work or expense needed to release them.
This is why I believe we will get the Universal 50s sci-fi that are 16x9 on BD. Brand new HD 16x9 masters were made for the DVD sets so they are BD ready. Sadly Universal still uses 480i masters used for VHS on their full screen stuff so less likely to see those.

It says 4 discs on the Amazon listing, which doesn't mean anything really. Until there's an official press release, I'll wait and see.

It really wouldn't affect the quality. Two of these movies would be about 3 hours. There are many movies on BD that clock in at way over 3 hours and look glorious.

The preorder price on Amazon right now is $42, which for 8 films in all is...wow.

I would welcome their release as Warner Archive titles! Both "Curse of Frankenstein" and "Horror of Dracula" deserve individual releases. Warner Bros renders the archive titles with gorgeous insert and disc art. I never dreamt I would actually be able to complete my Hammer collection in high definition but the possibility is more probable than I previously thought. Now I hope someone will release "Asylum"(1972) along with the other portmanteau horror films produced by Amicus Productions, including "Torture Garden" (1967), "The House That Dripped Blood" (1970), and "From Beyond the Grave" (1974). I'm sure the boutique distributors are scrambling to obtain the rights to these titles. I just picked up "Tales That Witness Madness" (1973) from the Olive Films sale. I had no idea that this title was even available on Blu-ray. While it wasn't a Hammer or Amicus production, it bears a strong resemblance to those films in tone and style, due in no small part to the involvement of veteran Amicus and Hammer director Freddie Francis.

I am not a huge Hammer fan as I found many of the movies to be kinda dry and dull though that was many years ago. Any must-sees in all of these releases that I should revisit?
