Yeah, that was a terrible ending... show is as fun to watch anymore. I was hoping for a good ending for Fiona and Sean, just have Frank show up at the wedding and fuck shit up would have been a better ending.
Show just needs to end.

So Fiona and Sean are done? Does she still get to keep her job?

Predictable and weak ending. They should of at least had Frank pull the gun out that he bought.

Yea, this wasn't very good.
Frank's hatred for Sean was not believable. He buys the gun and then we don't see make a real attempt and I don't remember seeing him change his mind on the idea... he just no longer did it.
Maybe I'm not remembering right, but didn't Sean already admit to Fiona a few episodes back that he slipped up and used again? I guess we're supposed to feel sorry for Fiona - but I really don't. She's had plenty of chances to be happy but she keeps fucking it up. Dating a former junkie isn't a wise thing for her to do in the first place. The last 2 guys she had in her life were MUCH better and she fucked it up.
Not sure why they threw Frank in the river - it doesn't solve anything. He'll be back anyway. You either have to kill him or get him arrested - everything else is pointless.
I really wanted someone to laugh in Debbie's face and mock her for how stupid she was in keeping the baby.
Hopefully next season is the last. They've obviously run out of ideas, so they just keep having these people make the same stupid mistakes over and over.

It just seems like every time it's presented that Debbie's choices weren't the best ones, they just double down and make her even more stubborn about them.
The frank stuff was just annoying and yeah, at that point you should have had Sean get killed instead of essentially pulling a "My planet needs me, I must go now" moment. Leaving Fiona out of a job. The reveal was also fairly stupid because of that already mentioned act that Sean admitted to slipping up a few episodes ago.
But hey, mark another failed marriage down for Fiona.

Fast forwarded the past two eps..
Sad for the lip stuff, hope they find a way to get him back into school
The fiona stuff is tired, give her some hope for crying out loud
Frank needs to go away
The v and kev stuff was pretty good
The deb stuff was awful, not sure i saw this storyline coming for her years ago, i always hoped they would elevlate her to a more interesting above the fray, sadly no
The carl stuff was good, a pleasant surprise, prob the highlight of the season
The ian stuff was good..
Overall, ok season that stalled.. Hopefully the end is nigh...

The ending sucked. The yoyo dynamics of these characters, aside from Kev/Vi and Carl, are very stale at this point. If the seventh season is the last, I'm in. If it's not, I'm out.

Maybe now with her experience working in a diner, Fiona can go back and work for that diner that Jeffrey Dean Morgan owned where she started working. He probably needs the work too.

I guess they figured they already replaced an actor playing the same character (Karen) and didn't want to do it again.

I don't think they replaced Karen, do you mean Mandy?
I watched the JDM scene at the diner on Youtube. I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think it was the same diner though it was hard to be sure. I don't think there were any exterior shots of that diner. The other employees were also different.

It's supposed to be the same character. He was just recast.

If it was just a recasting, why would they rename the character too?

Sorry, you're right... I meant Mandy... not Karen. Haven't seen much of either character so I forget their names.

Totally forgot about Karen. What happened to her? And also totally forgot about Sheila...what ended up happening to her?

Karen took off with Jodie and her baby. Sheila had bought the motorhome to go live on the road or something before her house exploded.

That family seems to keep making the same mistakes, yet I keep watching.
One last thing, I tend to forget that Emmy Rossum plays her character sans make-up and looking pretty rough much of the series. But then you see her all made up on her wedding day and both my wife and I made note of how beautiful she looked.

I guess that Kevin can consider himself forgiven by God for what happened to Yanis based on Kev's situation at the end of the season.

Dermot Mulroney was recast for the JDM role. I remember reading at the time, there were scheduling conflicts for JDM, so he couldn't commit to this show.
Regarding the name change, the article mentioned there was a line Sean said to Fiona during one of their initial encounters where he said "I didn't hire you." (or something similar) - this was inserted in an (ill-fated) attempt to avoid viewer confusion.

Season 7 of Shameless will be preparing way early: Oct. 2, 2016.

Hopefully, the scripts don't suck due to moving the season up.
