YouTube has a complete, peak period Go-Go's concert from 1981

I own the DVD of their 2001 Central Park concert, and I like it a lot.

But I absolutely love this 1981 concert from a Los Angeles High School. It was released on laserdisc and VHS, but not on DVD.

Skip to 2:37 for the beginning of the concert:

The title of this release was "Totally Go-Gos"- I have it on CED in stereo, I should upload it since this one is in crappy mono. I'm pretty sure this wasn't released on laserdisc in the US, even the VHS is hard to find but the CED is relatively common. They had a "Wild at the Greek" concert a couple years after this, which I stupidly passed up buying on laserdisc when I had the chance.

Ugh. CED. You think you can upload the whole thing without it skipping?

I remember even having to eject them and blow on the top of them like a Nintendo cartridge at times. Some discs had certain parts that never played correctly no matter what you did.

There were some movies that I never actually saw parts of until we either rented the VHS or DVD since some of our CEDs would skip so much.

Reactions:
1. Gina Shock rules.
2. Jane Wiedlin was extremely hot.
3. Masters of 80s dancing.
4. The band is pretty damned tight. Imagine a band of this quality playing your high school...

This is probably common knowledge, but I thought the story of "Our Lips Are Sealed" was kind of neat. Terry Hall (The Specials, Fun Boy Three) was on tour in America, and he and Jane Wiedlin had a secret fling. They wrote the song together, and then each recorded it with their own band.

Rock legends the Go-Go's will unite this summer for a month-long farewell tour. Four members of the band's classic line-up – singer Belinda Carlisle, guitarist Jane Wieldlin, multi-instrumentalist Charlotte Caffey and drummer Gina Schock – will play 18 dates throughout North America, starting August 2nd in Clearwater, Florida and concluding August 30th in Los Angeles. Indie-rock act Best Coast and singer-songwriter Kaya Stewart will open select dates throughout.

"After a 38-year run, we are gearing up for one last blast of a summer tour," the band said in a statement announcing the trek. "We feel so lucky and so grateful to have had the incredible support of our fans for so long. We can't wait to get out on the road and give the people what they want: some loud, fast music and a great party!"

Ticket information is available at Ticketmaster. Details on VIP meet-and-greet packages are forthcoming.

The Go-Go's formed in 1978, but rose to prominence in the early Eighties as the first (and only) all-female band to top the Billboard charts by writing their own material and playing their own instruments. The Go-Go's released three albums during their classic run – including 1981's hit-spawning, multi-platinum Beauty and the Beat – before their 1985 breakup.

The band reunited for multiple tours in subsequent decades and released one more LP, 2001's God Bless the Go-Go's. Their most recent jaunt concluded in July 2014.

I'll go to the Asbury Park show... though I don't see Best Coast listed anywhere else as opening that one.

I prefer the FB3 version.

I like both a lot, but think I might prefer that one a bit, too.

Like it so much that I even have the 12" vinyl single with 3 different versions.

All I have of Fun Boy Three is their greatest hits album. Definitely a little poppier than The Specials, but they had kind of darker vibe than other similar acts---some great singles.
