The ALL NEW....so yeah whats worth reading?
ust curious to see with a bunch of the first story arcs ending whats everyone reading?
what do you like?
what do you hate?
From what i read so far I am enjoying
Extraordinary X-men
Old Man Logan
Invincible Ironman
Spiderman - the miles morales one.
The Mighty Thor
When it comes to the Avengers I havent really enoyed the team books. My favorite is the new avengers as I like the team dynamics. I like some of the side character stories from the anad avengers but the book itself has no flow and the uncanny avengers im going to give it another shot today and get caught up but i was really turned off by the art of this book but now that its a few issues in ill give it another go.
Books i didn't like
Captain America the whole "not my captain" and the shock factor of a black captain america aspect got old quick for me. it just drags what should be a great book.
Drax/Venom book are fun but have been just dumb fun books with no substance
Hulk. i like Cho in new avengers but maybe too much of a good thing in his own book. only read the first issue and it didnt grab me.
still need to dive into the other titles and re attempt the spider universe soon
biggest surprise to me has been Carnage a character i never cared for but have really been enjoying this title same goes for doctor strange.

Superman: Lois & Clark is the best Superman book currently on the shelves.
I'm also enjoying Bryan Hitch's Justice League of America more than the regular Justice League title.
Squadron Supreme has been pretty good. That's the only Marvel book I'm reading outside of Star Wars and Darth Vader.

Yeah Image has had a bunch of good new titles come out in the last 6 to 8 months too that I didn't include cuz they aren't that far along yet...
Paper Girls
Monstress
Cry Havoc
I Hate Fairyland
Black Magick
Tokyo Ghost
Also The Fix has only had one issue so far but it was a really good first issue.

Clean Room
Gail Simone's supernatural horror book, published by Vertigo. Given my mental health issues, I found the first issue a bit rough and almost elected not to continue with it, but stuck it out and I'm glad I did. I think it's my favorite book I've picked up since I returned to reading current stuff in 2011. (Admittedly, it's a really short list.)
James Bond
I was really excited to find out that Bond was returning to comics again, and sadly even more excited that its first arc, "VARGR", has finally wrapped that I can now officially bail on it knowing I gave it six full issues to try to win me over. There's no personality to any of the characters, the action is flat and lifeless, and the story beats feel like they've been generated by some kind of writerbot algorithm. Just dreadful from start to finish.
Poe Dameron
I found issue #1 at Half Price Books for $2.00 on Wednesday and took a chance on it. It's likable and fun and has potential, so I think I'm going to replace Bond with Poe on my holds list. I dislike its $4.99 cover price, but at least I get 15% off as a holds customer.

Re: The ALL NEW....so yeah whats worth reading?
Image has the only current titles I've been keeping up on: The Walking Dead, Invincible, Saga, and Lazarus. The nice thing about the last two is that they're new enough for a new reader to catch up on.

I can't express how much it amuses me that this thread continues to get action despite the fact that so far not a single person has responded to the op's original question. I guess that says everything anyone needs to know about Marvel's current status quo.

Re: The ALL NEW....so yeah whats worth reading?
I've always gotten the impression that most readers here enjoy independent, non-superhero comics more than mainstream titles from the big two. Marvel and DC doesn't see as much discussion on DVDtalk as most comic boards I've visited.

'Cause that wasn't the original question. That's in post #2. The original question was just what we're digging and not.

The title of the thread is: "The ALL NEW....so yeah whats worth reading?"
Referring to the "All New All Different Marvel" current branding.
"ust curious to see with a bunch of the first story arcs ending whats everyone reading?
what do you like?
what do you hate?"
Referencing the first round of ANAD Marvel story arcs ending.
Then proceeds to ask what people think about those first round titles. Then proceeds to talk about nothing but ANAD Marvel titles.
Post technically veers off topic in post #3 with only 1/3 titles being about Marvel. By post #4 It's totally off topic. Post #5 goes back to a Marvel book. And then it's back off the rails all the way down as this becomes a general "what are you reading?" thread.
So I guess OP technically got two responses to his question and the original purpose of this thread.

Re: The ALL NEW....so yeah whats worth reading?
Maybe the thread needed a clearer title. I didn't realize that ALL NEW was a Marvel branding, and the OP doesn't mention it either. I just figured it was a new recommendation thread.

Re: The ALL NEW....so yeah whats worth reading?
I'm perfectly familiar with All New All Different or ANAD for short. That is the proper nomenclature. Just calling it "The All New" made it seem like a new thread for suggestions though. And I can't be bothered to read OP's.

Finally read the first trade of Paper Girls. At first, it seemed pretty refreshing - kids delivering papers, getting into fights, adventures...then of course a few pages later, it goes into supernatural territory and time travel. That's cool too, but shit- I think the last "normal" thing Vaughan did was The Escapists.
