Bizarre was meh. He was such a cool character in the animated series, but was boring here.

If there is one character the live-action shows have never gotten right, it's Bizarro. Live-action Bizarros barely resemble anything done in the comics with the character. The comics have done much more interesting things with the concept.
Implicit in this episode's narrative was that on this planet anyway, there was no Bizarro Superman.
Calista Flockhart has been better than I anticipated as Cat. She's hit a more believable tone after the first few episodes.
I wonder how long Maxwell Lord stays in that cell? They didn't have him play his cards close to the vest at all as he quickly descended into an evil billionaire cliche pretty quickly.

Horrible wire work in this ep. Everyone looked like people just dangling off a wire as they wobble around and so on. It's strange being they have done a ton of flying in past eps and it looked fine given the budget.
story wise, about what I expect at this point. They might be burning off story lines a little too quickly. Bad guy finds out they are sisters, spills his guts the next ep. Bizzaro shows up and it's one ep and done. Then again they might need to go full out to hold ratings. If you start running filler eps the rating might tank.

Melissa is great at playing Kara, it's helped sell the show. She's less impressive acting as Supergirl. They've nailed the flying stunts but this show's fight coordinators still haven't figured out a way to make Supergirl look impressive in close combat.
This is one case where it will be very painful when the movie division casts another actress for Supergirl.

I found this episode to be very confusing. Either Superman exists or he doesn't. Bizarro has always been a Superman villain created by Lex Luthor. If a Bizarro Superman doesn't exist is it safe to assume Lex Luthor doesn't either? It seems that Max Lord is essentially Lex. But Superman and Lex have had a history together, Kara and Max have none.

To be fair, Max wasn't a villain until DC decided that anything fun was outlawed.

Didn't really care for Bizarro Supergirl as the villain of the week.
But, there was some good character development in this episode.

I'm suprised in 2016 that a show like this would look that bad? I have to go back and watch the Christopher Reeve Superman Movies, but I don't remember the fight scenes with Zod or the Villain in Superman 4 looking like they were dangling off wires? Or maybe it was always this noticeable?

Reading everyone's comments makes me glad that I dropped Supergirl. I can't say that, as a family, we have missed it. Glad to see most comments support our decision.

Tom Welling is open to possibly playing Superman in the show. He says that Berlanti and company haven't asked him.
