Black Sabbath remasters 1/22/16
Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Masters of Reality out now. They look interesting.
Of course most of us have already heard these over and over many times before. I myself have bought the 8-track, cassette, albums, cd's over and over of Sabbath's collection. But the 2nd disc in each set makes these worthwile.
Paranoid, for instance, has a lot of the songs with just the instrumentals which is very interesting. I will try that one out first. And then move on to the others.

There is also a "new" release called "The End" that has 4 unreleased songs from "13" on it along with some live tracks. Looking forward to listing to that soon. I like pretty much every song previously released on the "13" deluxe edition.

The remasters for the first three use the same mastering as the MFiT and HDtracks versions. The bonus discs are pretty fluffy even compared to the ones on the new Led Zeppelin releases.

I have the Black Box that came out back around 2004 containing the first 8 albums. Are these releases much improved over that set?

Don't get too excited. I have it. There's a reason the 4 tracks didn't make "13". They're OK, but wouldn't replace any of the "13" tracks. The 4 live tracks are decent though, even if you can hear Ozzy struggling at times.

Just listened to it this morning and totally disagree. The worst thing I would label them with is being more of the same. Have zero interest in the live tracks, only downloaded the 4 unreleased songs.

I just picked up Paranoid today. Listening to the 2nd disc, I like it. I haven't been through all of it yet. But I like what i'm hearing so far. The first disc remasters are from 2012, so they're not brand new, but I really bought this for the bonus discs. Plus the packaging is a plus if you're in to that also. It does remind me a lot of the Led Zep remasters. But I loved them too. I hope they go through all or at least the Ozzy years of Sabbath with these.

I have most of the Deluxe Editions (s/t -> Sabotage,Heaven,Mob and Born) from 2009 or so that sound fine by me so I will not be picking these up. However I am not sure how easy or cheap those are now.
