That was a pretty FX heavy episode, though some of the flight fight (say that five times fast) scenes looked a little rubbery. Nice to get some backstory for J'onn. The "family" theme is still laid on a little thick and the writing has a little too much obvious theme-pounding, but it's improving. Benoist is a treasure, as always.

I'm not sure this show has a good handle on how Kryptonite affects Kryptonians. They are basically making it up as they go along.

I finally figured something out. Kara is the cousin of the George Reeves' Superman. That would explain her power levels better than any other explanation. Also check out the similar costumes...

Kara adds another suitor to her reverse harem.

Heartbroken, he begins to resent Kara as jealousy creeps into his heart.

Now all they need to do is have Supergirl make Winn lose all his hair in the process of saving someone.

I've never been a fan of Callista Flockhart but she fucking nailed the scene at the restaurant with Adam. Fantastic bit of acting there.

I like that they still feel the need to beat audience's over the head with the glowing eyes thing, even for the white martian. Loved the effects on this though, the white martian looked pretty freaking cool for a TV show. Wish they didn't have it keep switching in to that senator's form though to save money on FX.

I like that they addresses Cat calling her "Kyra" all the damn time, it was bugging the shit out of me

The flashback to J'onn's family, friends and others of his kind being exterminated was very sad.

Some really impressive special FX in this episode.

Looks like we're goinh to see Supergirl's Bizarro next week.

Both were fantastic. However I gotta say Harewood wasn't very convincing telling the story and crying. The story itself was sad, but his acting there was definitely lacking. I felt zero empathy for him or his race. I almost wanted to laugh when the tear came. Also, the two names his daughters had were very American/Earth-y.
