Love that everyone is acknowledging that The Clone Wars should be omitted from the other seven films without anyone actually pointing it out.

Might as well include The Ewok Adventure movies

Saw half of The Phantom Menace once and shut it off. Done with Star Wars. Will not watch the rest of TPM, the other prequels or any future films.

Seems to me you would really enjoy TFA but whatever.

Empire (only great film)

Star wars

Force Awakens

ROTJ (saved by last 15 mins)

All the others are awful, impossible to distinguish piles of shit, though the last of the prequels is the least smelly

Maybe I might but I will never know. I have issues with films that try to milk nostalgia for profit.

TFA does a little bit, but that's not the heart of the film to be honest.

I disagree. At times it feels like a straight up remake of the original film.

As for my rankings:

1. Empire
2. Star Wars
3. Jedi
4. Force Awakens
5. Phantom Menace
6. Sith
7. Clones

I could easily make a case for swapping 3 and 4, but after one viewing, I just feel like the highs of TFA don't come close to the highs of Jedi. It doesn't have some of the extreme lows of Jedi either, but Jedi has the nostalgia factor on its side. Things may change after I see it again or after we see 8 and 9 and it's context becomes more clear.

Those times are less than a handful.

Again, I disagree so completely that I can't even put it into words. I'm not going to belabor the point though. I want to see the movie again and let some time pass before I start bickering about it too much online.

No need to bicker, I've seen A New Hope as much as any movie, and I just don't see TFA as a large copy of the original. Some plot devices, sure, but not so much that its not its own movie.

TFA does this a lot. At the expense of the new characters.

The Clone Wars? Since when is that a part of the discussion? Did I miss a memo?

re: Rank the Star Wars films

The Clone Wars belongs on this list about as much as The Ewok Adventure and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor belong here.

(And I don't care that The Clone Wars "movie" got a theatrical release - it was Made-for-TV to launch the animated TV series and only at the last minute was there a decision to release it theatrically)

I don't necessarily share inri222's feelings on the subject, but your response makes no sense at all.
