Did they premiere this season a week later than expected? Shouldn't the Halloween episode been last week?

They did Devil's Night last week. I feel like there are so many moving pieces again that this show is ready to do it's annual de-railing. Granted I only got thru 20 minutes last night but making the wife of the cop a vampire seems like it's going to become a jumbled mess.

Man, that whole school scene was fucked up
So Kathy Bates wasn't a vampire before now? It didn't look like her character aged since her son was turned. That part had me confused.

To be fair, Kathy Bates doesn't look that different than she did 25 years ago in "Misery."

This season is still working in every way IMO. Loved the saving of the kid ending in a elementary school vampire lockdown and the backstory for Liz. Hope is keeps it going through the finale for once.
Would love for Robbert Knepper to become a AHS regular.

Well, I don't really care for the story anymore, but I'm still entertained. Couldn't really say that about Freak Show or Coven.

I agree. I'm not liking that part so far. I'm thinking that she will kill herself later on or the daughter kills her as revenge for choosing the vamp son over her.

I really liked this episode. All the story lines are connected for once in the series. Loved the vampire school scene. Lady Gaga is just perfect for this role.
Who is taking care of the little girl while vampire mommy and crazy cop dad are at the hotel?

I'm thinking the whole family will end up as vampires and life eternally at the Cortez.

I promise I am not trying to thread crap ...
So I was in a hotel flipping channels and stopped to watch part of this. I have never seen any of the AHS seasons, but I expected to binge watch them one day. From what I saw of this, I have absolutely no desire to watch them though. Has this always had the filmmaking style and low production value of Goosebumps?
I was enjoying the backstory of the guy in drag. Kathy Bates seemed truly inspired, but the look, the pacing, and the feel really took me out of the whole thing and turned me off.

But I will say that sometimes AHS goes campy and over the top on purpose. Watching from season one, I can say that I'm fine with the style of the show, and just like any it has its ups and downs.
Even though all the seasons are stand-alone, I would say definitely start with season 1 since it sets the tone for the series.
I had actually been hoping for a while that she would have showed up on True Blood, so this has been just as good if not better to me!

Well first of all I'll offer the obligatory "so you watched one random episode of a series you've never seen and are making a judgement about it?"
But I will say that sometimes AHS goes campy and over the top on purpose. Watching from season one, I can say that I'm fine with the style of the show, and just like any it has its ups and downs.

I cared enough to come ask because it has been something I have had on my radar. I'm not making a snap judgment and saying I'll never watch it; I came to find out if that first impression was what I should expect.

That said, it's hard to "get into" the show halfway through a season.
