There goes another supporting character from season one. They won't have many left if they keep killing them off. I thought Butch was a goner at one point in this episode.

Loved how Silver felt the need to look out the window when she was hugging Bruce. She knew damn well Selina was watching. When two teenage girls get pi$$ed at one another, not even Batman will be able to break up that fight. Did Silver start out as a villain in the comics as well?

Lack of realism aside, this show really knows how to turn it up when it needs to.

I love Selina.

In fact I think that Gotham has the best Selina Kyle, Alfred and Penguin that I have seen on TV or film.

Was The Riddler ever portrayed as such a homicidal maniac before? I always thought he was usually depicted as more of a nuisance more than anything.

I don't like how they're turning Bruce into a dumbass.
He blew up the door instead of solving the passcode which was just his damn name.
Now he's just completely blinded left and right about everything going on around him.
Just can't see this kid growing up to be Batman.

I was a little disturbed by that change. In recent years the Riddler has become an information broker of some kind in the comics, like Oracle for villains. I guess this Riddler will be a crazy psychotic killer.

He's always been one of my favorites and I like the actor playing him on Gotham, but I hope the Riddler doesn't become another Joker-lite.

No, Silver was just an exotic new woman in Bruce's life created by writer Steve Englehart for his "Detective Comics" run with Walt Simonson and, later, Marshall Rogers. She left when the writer did. She was brought back when Englehart and Rogers returned to the character for a mini-series a decade or more later (though I forget how she was handled in that).

Maybe setting him up for a big moment when he grows up later in the season

My hope is we eventually get a reveal that Bruce is a step ahead of Galavan, though I doubt it.

Lst week the show resembled American Horror Story. This Week, Pretty Little Liars.

The only comic I can remember where Riddler comes off as a serious threat is
Spoiler:
Hush
. And I'm spoiling that because if you knew the comic I'd totally ruin it for you. I'm sure most people have read it by now, it's a pretty popular Batman story.

That would explain the big 'A' we got earlier this season. Mona versus the Dark Knight.

That would be Batman-appropriate, which means I doubt that this show would do it.

Didn't they use the Calculator for a similar function as "evil Oracle" in the wake of Identity Crisis?

It's become the hip job for reformed villains everywhere.

Re: Gotham (S2E07) -- "Rise of the Villains: Mommy's Little Monster" -- 11/2/15

Hopefully Riddler's split personality is gone for good. He was basically Two-Face for his past several appearances, quite similar to Harvey Dent's "Big Bad Harv" schtick from The Animated Series (Was Big Bad Harv ever in the comics?). And since we already have a future Two-Face on Gotham, it was just odd that they decided to go this route with another one of the major villains.
