Thought it was better than the first episode. Hopefully it will continue to find it's way.
I guess Jimmy knows Sups secret identity.

I feel like Superman is a gaping plot hole in this series. Like, why doesn't he show up? To train his cousin, to help deal with the oil spill or whatever, to deal with the Fort Rozz aliens.
If I were Greg Berlanti, I would have had Superman go missing six months before the series started. That explains why he's not present and gives Kara more of a motivation to come out of hiding now (trying to fill his shoes).

They should have had Superman going off world for the first season, that would have answered all the questions pretty quickly. I think they want to temper casual fan expectations that he'll show up at some point.
I would hope a fully mature Kryptonian could break the sound barrier on Earth. They are already going heavily into this show's particular mythology and setting up the season's big bads. The plot is developing much faster than I expected, they aren't wasting time introducing anything.
There is more action and FX than I thought possible, I guess being on CBS does allow a much bigger FX budget. I like how the heatvision on this show is a cool blue laser.
The costume already looked a touch different from the pilot. Did they change the fabric on the sleeves? It looked shinier in this episode.

With the way DC controls the other TV shows, my guess is they can only reference him but not mention or include him in any stories. Problem with separating TV and movies.

I think it's mostly an issue of lighting.. everything about this ep looked better then the pilot. They stopped going for an over bright sort of look and shifted to more muted lighting.
ep looked great from location to location.. Bright colorful office, the green/blue training room.. even the FX still seemed on point. I'm guessing it helps to be on CBS vs say The CW when it comes to $$$$$ being throwing around.

Why did Henshaw have a Kryptonite knife when at the time he left to rescue Alex he didn't know a Kryptonian would be there? Letting the supervillains have that means they're going to start using it a lot against Kara.

In the last scene before they walk into the hologram room, Supergirl's skirt has gold stitching on her right. It is no longer there when she turns to sit on the table.

Henshaw looks like he knows much more about everything than he is letting on. It appears this entire government agency is dedicated to bringing down Kryptonians.
One of the few character beats I think they missed was when they had the sister beating Kara up. That entire room was designed to weaken Kryptonians...and possibly imprison them. I would be far less trusting of this group than Kara has been with them. It was disappointing they never had Kara think about the situation in any real depth.
I also realized that Kara's personality at the office is similar to Felicity Smoak's early personality without her trademark sarcasm.

I thought the second episode was extremely strong and once again packed a ton of stuff into a single hour. I thought Supergirl would mistake her Aunt for her mother all season, but she recognized her tight away which was a good move. One direction they seemed to have changed is to have more of a love triangle with her two suitors where in the pilot he seemed like he was going to be perma friend zoned real quick. A few appearances by Superman if done well could help the movies not hurt them, though they seem to not be going there. They actually did explain a little his lack of help saying that Metropolis was constantly under siege which kept him busy.
I agree on the danger of the training room. A little too trusting but that could be intentional and have a payoff down the road. Calista Flockhart gained some weight in between the pilot and second episode. she looked much better.
I love Felicity but I think Kara may be even more entrancing. She is incredibly likable.
If people came back after the first episode, I do not think they are going anywhere. This could be a big hit. Special effects are seriously good for a network TV show.

It's distracting how her scenes seem to be fuzzy and out of focus and then when they cut to the other person in the shot they look clear and in focus. I wish they would stop shooting her through a cheesecloth. She is not Barbara Walters.

Ratings for 2nd week decent but down full point. Still strong considering it is going against DWTS and The Voice. Dumb time slot in my opinion.

I suspect Gotham will be moving to another time slot in January...just a hunch.

Worse yet, Supergirl is taking ratings from Gotham and vice versa. I realize networks want to steal viewers away from other channels, but the decision by CBS to put up one DC-themed show against the other is one of the true head-scratchers of the Fall.

Why was Supergirl still sore the day after her fight in with her sister in the K-Room and yet she recovered quickly after the fight with her aunt? Makes no sense...

I watched the pilot and this episode today. There is improvement in the second episode. Calista Flockhart is doing well playing the bitchy editor. Melissa Benoist is great as Supergirl. I liked her on Glee, but many viewers disliked her character.

So wait, isn't this show now tying the Superman movie to the CW shows? Since they have been talking about the stuff Superman did in the movies, and they carried over the ludicrousness of Kryptonians not knowing what Kryptonite is, and they (Berlanti?) said previously that Supergirl is in the same universe as the CW shows. Or did they backpeddle on that?
God, I wish DC wasn't so fucktarded when it comes down to the nonsense of needing TV and movies to be separate entities.

I also enjoyed episode 2 more than the Pilot.
Thought it was interesting seeing Supergirl needing some refinement in her skills and screw up a few times, while getting some backlash from the National City people.
Melissa Benoist is so damn cute and likable.
And what the hell was up with Henshaw and his eyes in that last scene?
Yeah the Kryptonite slightly weakened her, while in the fight scene with her aunt, none was present.
BTW, I noticed that Chris Vance from Transporter the series and Burn Notice was credited in the opening credits? Who did he play? I don't remember seeing him.

Think I'm over this show after two episodes. Love Melissa Benoist as the lead, and surprisingly the music too, but that's about it. I actually like Kara's scenes rather than Supergirl scenes. And I have zero interest in the villains.

Re: Supergirl (S1E02) -- "Stronger Together" -- 11/2/15
“Supergirl” averaged a 2.2 rating/7 share in adults 18-49 and 8.86 million viewers overall in the 8 o’clock hour, down 0.9 in the demo (or 29%) from its debut of last week and by about the same in total viewers; it did the same 2.2 rating in both the male and female side of the demo. A sizable decline for “Supergirl” is not a surprise since it no longer had a lead-in from “The Big Bang Theory” and there was so much anticipation for the show’s premiere, but it will need to stabilize if it’s to remain in the hunt as the season’s top new show.
Compared to the 8 o’clock hour on the opening Monday of November last year, “Supergirl” was up 16% in the demo (from 1.9) and 20% in total viewers (from 7.4 million) vs. “2 Broke Girls” and “The Millers.”
CBS was hoping for slightly better adult demo numbers. I think they wanted it at 8 PM to capture younger viewers but agree that placing it up against Gotham was a poor choice. Gotham went back up a tenth this week in ratings. I think Supergirl would have a bigger audience week to week with The Big Bang Theory as its lead-in. It's a natural pairing.

This show is fun in a lightweight sort of way so far, the FX are decent, and Benoist has a marvelous charm, but they have to find some way of tightening up the storytelling. The dialogue is Power Rangers-clunky in places.
