From what's being said online, this is supposed to be an emmy-worthy performance for Elizabeth Henstridge.

Well, Fritz has been friend zoned again, this time level 1000. He risked his life and never lost hope for Simmons, yet she bangs Will, the lost astronaut who caged her and treated her horribly at first. Fitz should simply do this

And it seems that they killed Blair Underwood too, according to the previews

It's a very Female fantasy, -sort of a cleaned-up version of "Outlander".

I dug this episode. Very different compared to past Shield episodes.
Had a very Enemy Mine feel to it.
I guess that explains why Jemma wanted to go back to the planet.

I didn't really care for the episode overall, I was hoping the planet would be much more interesting. And i'm definitely disappointed there's another obstacle there between her and Fitz.

IMO it wouldn't be very believable if that remained an obstacle once they get him back. That relationship was based entirely on circumstance.
And I'm going to remain very skeptical about Underwood's character's death. We didn't see him killed, we didn't see whose corpse that was, the explosion muddles identifying it and takes care of any surveillance footage, and we only saw the kid make it out. Plus they made it a point to mention he disappeared inexplicably once before.

Me either. While she did a fine job, I didn't see much that was different than her usual performance. I was enjoying the story a good bit until Jemma and Mark Watney got all lovey-dovey. Their playfulness seemed really forced.
I would have loved it if Fitz had just looked at her at the end and said "you fuckin' bitch," and walked out. All his torment over this, risking his life, and she's playing hide the booster rocket with The Lonely Astronaut.

that has to be the worst.... a girl you crush on gets sucked into a blob of black shit for 200 days and you spend all your energy trying to rescue her just to find out that she fucked a dude on a completely different planet. ouch.

Yes! My prediction of hilarity came true!
Fitz, man... I know none of you have any social life outside of work, but... you know, join Tinder or something.

The more I think about the episode, the more I get pissed. The lonely badass astronaut getting the girl while Fritz sacrificed his life for a fucking second time to save Jemma. This makes Simmons a very unlikable character. Like Jason said, Fitz reaction should have been like "fuck you Jemma and fuck Will too". The writers should have Fitz now get the hot Inhuman that can multiply like Jaime Madrox and then show that Will the astronaut is married on Earth. I truly hate these friend zone storylines

Yeah, it's like Fitz has pretty much faced certain death twice to save this chick's life, and she just sort of keeps leading him on.
Then she's trapped on another planet and drops her panties for this meathead-military-jock who locks her in a fucking cage.
And, of course Fitz saves her, and now the fucking cuckold is going to save her boyfriend.
On the plus side, I don't think Will is human.
Look at it this way... The guy looked really well-kept for being trapped in an alien desert for fourteen years. Really been keeping his hair and beard well-trimmed, wasn't he? Guy should look like a fucking Yeti by now. And also note that he was withholding information from Simmons, seemed to be bullshitting about the size of the canyon, and conveniently didn't get the message in the bottle through the portal.
I wonder if either of them used SHIELD's resources to verify his astronaut story. Hell, Will looked like was thirty... was he sixteen when NASA sent him off on that suicide mission?
Something is fishy.

You guys have a point. And probably Jemma was right about Will killing the other astronauts for his pleasure. Also, the thing that Will kept calling "Death" may have been a good guy after all trying to help Jemma. It would be funny if Simmons gets pregnant by an alien.

I was expecting something interesting about the planet which I guess may turn out to be "it", but it seemed an especially lame reason for her to have to go back.
In their situation if it could possibly exist, the odds on them eventually banging is close to 100%

What does this planet have to do with the overall story? Are we supposed to know yet?

Of course, you just know that when Jemma is finally ready to start a relationship with Fitz, he will have already moved on, and she will realize what she lost and start pining for him. I hope this episode was the beginning of that. Yeah, we'll get your boyfriend back, because I deserve better.
