Good episode.
Should have known that Patty would be even more annoying when she was running her mouth than when she wouldn't talk.

From reading the novel I knew they were never going to explain what actually happened with the rapture. But when I saw the title of the episode and Nora started talking to the MIT guys I had hope of that revelation. But alas, it was not meant to be. Outside of that it was an ok episode, much better than the season premiere.

Do they actually call it "the rapture" in the book? On the show they call it "the depature". As far as anyone knows there was no "religious" significance to the disappearances other than what people imagined on their own.

Last week's episode was really strange with Garvey and his family only having a small appearance. Glad to see them back this week with the flashbacks tying up the loose ends. I liked that this week was told from Kevin and Nora's perspective.
Funny how Nora went crazy bidding on that house. Lucky she got that much for her old house.

I watched the premiere and this episode back to back since I was out of town for the week.
I was kind of surprised how much hate the premiere got as I actually liked it more than this episode. though this one was still good.

Many characters refer to it as The Rapture in the book. When referring to the characters that are gone they are referred to as past departures.

The show is trying my patience. I think another 2 or 3 more episodes until I decide to stick or bail.

Kevin had one of his blackouts again and woke up with a cinder block tied around his leg in the drained lake where the girls from the first episode went missing. I'm guessing the missing pieces will be filled in as we go along.

So the question is was he just in a "state" again and did it himself, or are him and his dad actually seeing dead people and they are responsible? I'd guess he did it himself, but that we'll never find out for sure.

So...how did he not get sucked into the lake drainage?

I'm enjoying the start to the new season. The first two episodes playing off each other and arriving at the same spot was well handled. Obviously, lots of questions and yes, just "let the mystery be", but I'm in for the season.

I also liked the idea of a scientific explanation for the disappearance, and it could happen again

I'm glad this episode went back and filled in the gap between the end of S1 and last week's ep.
I wanted to slap Nora for suddenly bidding $3M on that house that she would have probably won for less than $2M.

I'm enjoying the season so far. Yes its always going to strange, but that's what I sort of like about it that you never really know when they throw a curveball at you. It's not a great show, but its a perfect DVR show that I catch up with each episode on the weekend when there is nothing else on to watch.
