Fixed.
Both the cast and writing staff need a cleansing. The past three seasons have had a cast on par with the sixth and eleventh seasons. A majority of the tenured cast have overstayed their welcome and a lot of the newer cast members still haven't proven themselves.
And then you have Leslie Jones yelling and screaming in the back.

I could not name a single cast member from this show now, and probably been that way for a while. This show used to be awesome and funny (hit and miss) but it is so irrelevant and has such poor writers for it now that it needs to be cancelled. I watched an hour of the documentary on TV about it last night and the distance between what the show once was and where it is now was so apparent. It showed the clip of the Fake News which used to be so funny with Norm Macdonald, but now has some zero talented unfunny jerk in his place. The job was the female black "comedienne" talking about if she was a slave girl. It summed it all up for me. Loud, obnoxious and trying to find a risqué subject to appear relevant and cutting edge in place of any actually comedy writing or performance talent. Pathetic.

While watching the Weekend Update it dawned on me ... Brian Williams ... They should get Brian Williams to be the anchor for that segment.

Tuned in for the first time in ages. Didn't recognize anyone.
The first half was pretty mediocre. I turned it off in the middle of Leslie Jones' news shtick. Yikes. So this is 1/4 of the Ghosbusters team that some are defending over in MovieTalk? *shudder*

Not a good premiere but it did have "some" funny moments. I liked the exchange between the real Hilary and Kate specially about how "quick" was her support for gay marriage. That looked to be ad libbed. At least Miley wasn't a distraction.

As usual, way too many musical numbers. I've now just lost any interest I had in seeing the Ghostbusters re-boot. I'll tune in for Tracy in a couple weeks, but I'm not going to bother donating any more of my time to this show.

Cecily Strong is getting hotter each season.
Leslie Jones has the worst comedic timing I have ever seen.

I don't even have a problem with her looking beastly like she does - that could be used for comedic effect. No, she just has zero comedic chops. I know she started out as a writer, maybe she should've stayed one.

I like most of the current cast, but agree it should be thinned out.
Like:
Kate McKinnon
Cecily Strong
Kenan Thompson
Vanessa Bayer
Bobby Moynihan
Hate:
Leslie Jones
Beck Bennett
Kyle Mooney
I'm indifferent about the rest of the cast.

I don't know if I like Bayer or Strong because they're funny, or because I would fuck either one of them given the opportunity. With that being said, I do think McKinnon and Killam are currently the show's MVPs.
Thompson has overstayed his welcome and needs to be given the boot. Nearly every other skit he's in revolves to the rest of the cast reacting to his reactions. Moynihan is given nothing to do.
If I was Lorne, I'd keep: Bayer, Killam, McKinnon, Pharaoh, Strong, and Davidson.
I'd I was Lorne, I'd fire: Bennett, Bryant, Che, Jost, Mooney, Moynihan, Thompson, Zamata, and Jones.
Christ, I'd keep Leslie Jones on the show longer than Aidy Bryant. Jones at least attempts range even if she falls flat on her face. Bryant's shtick is the same one regardless of who she plays.

Yeah, I really like Cecily Strong; she's nice to look at, she's funny, and a decent utility player, but ever since they pulled her from WU she's sort of faded into the background and just seems to playing things like "Woman #2" in sketches.

Odd opinion. Along with Taran Killam, Vanessa Bayer strikes me as one of the least polarizing cast members they have.

Contemporary comedy....this show does not meet the requirements to be considered part of that. This is pure obnoxious crap at best. And for your information I do keep up wth good contemporary comedy, and don't waste my time with shit like this anymore. Most American comedies though I find terrible (unless it's on HBO). Laugh tracks for shows is a sign of the lowest brow him out possible.
