Fear the Walking Dead (S1E01) -- 90 minute Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 8/23/15
"Fear the Walking Dead" is a gritty drama that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family. Set in a city where people come to escape, shield secrets, and bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counselor Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and English teacher Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis) have managed to assemble. The everyday pressure of blending two families while dealing with resentful, escapist, and strung out children takes a back seat when society begins to break down. A forced evolution, a necessary survival of the fittest takes hold, and our dysfunctional family must either reinvent themselves or embrace their darker histories.

Let's hope they don't milk all six episodes with unnecessary character development. If zombies don't show up within the first half hour I'm gonna be totally bummed. Basically I'd love for the show to go from zero to 60 in two seconds. We get it, these are people like you and me trying to get by in the big city.
Fuck that already, give me the sensation of "all of a sudden outta nowhere" you're blindsided, now try to survive.
I think about shit like this all the time... I work 35 miles away from where I live, and the big one happens... infrastructure is jacked, no phone, highways are out of the question... how do I get to my wife and children in the quickest way possible.

One of those actresses that has been around forever but I had never noticed untill one project (Gone Girl)

Nah. They'll shut it down before it goes too far.
I'm very interested in what else is happening in the universe. They kept in in Georgia so long. And 5+ seasons is a lot of time to spend on one group. I'm not sure how much further it has to go before it catches up to the comics.

Isn't this about how this all happened, how the city "prepared", etc.? Basically, when TWD started, we saw Rick in the hospital. This show is supposed to explain that time, right? I doubt we will get a lot of zomb...sorry, walkers, to start the show.

Yeah, the first few episodes take place during the time Rick was in a coma in Atlanta. I read that this show will use a different term than "walkers", but will maddeningly not use the term "zombies".
How much time has passed on the original show since the pilot, anyway?
