Origional Rocketship XM

Wade Williams messed up RXM by re-tinting and adding his own mickey-mouse scenes in this film while changing others of the origional. He also screwed up "Invaders From Mars" THANK GOD! he didn't or couldn't get his hands on Destination Moon and louse that one up as well. I first saw RXM and Destination Moon in 1950, which is when the came out. I was only 10 years old at the time but was in love with Sci-Fi forever after. These two films, RXM and Destination Moon, were the films that ignited the Sci-Fi craze in the 50's and beyond. These two films put Science Fiction films on a much more adult and realistic level. My question is, where can I lay my hands on an origional copy of RXM, with the pink tinted sky and landscape. I hope it's possible.

Do you mean "original"?

Well, I don't know if this qualifies as "pink" or not, but here's a framegrab from one of the editions that I own:

It doesn't have all the Wade Williams-inserted "fixes," and you can find it on this set (click on the cover for a link to the product page on Amazon):

It's out of print, and the Amazon product page links to three different versions. You might also want to check eBay and other retailers for it. Wherever you find it, make sure that it has the cover from above.

Hope this helps!

I thought this was B&W?

Per IMDB (which has been known to be wrong):
Technical Specs
Runtime: 77 min
Sound Mix: Mono (Western Electric Recording)
Color: Black and White
Aspect Ratio: 1.37 : 1

Also from the IMDB page (in the "Trivia" section):

When the film was originally released theatrically in 1950, the sequences on Mars were tinted red so as to impart a sense of the alien Red Planet into the black-and-white film. But subsequent TV prints did not reproduce this effect, and for decades the Martian scenes were shown only in black-and-white until the red tint was restored for home video in the early 1980s.
