I Saw the Light (11/27/15, D: Marc Abraham) S: Tom Hiddleston, Elizabeth Olsen
That's quite a casting choice, but I'll definitely see it.

Sony Pictures Classics has released the first look at Tom Hiddleston as country music legend Hank Williams in the upcoming biopic I Saw the Light.
The image shows a clean-cut Hiddleston (no Loki hair or Avengers intergalactic garb here) wearing a cowboy hat and dressed in a suit and tie.
I Saw the Light will follow Williams’ rise to fame and tragic personal life, which ended with his death at age 29 from heart failure after battling alcoholism, prescription drug abuse and back problems.
Elizabeth Olsen costars as Williams’ wife, Audrey Mae, and the cast also includes Cherry Jones, Bradley Whitford, Maddie Hasson, and Wren Schmidt.
The film, written and directed by Marc Abraham, is named for Williams’ 1948 song of the same name and based on the 1994 book Hank Williams: The Biography. It opens in limited release on Nov. 27, and will go nationwide after that.

Thanks, Entertainment Weekly, for pointing out that Hiddleston wouldn't be wearing his Avengers costume to play Hank Williams.

Saw this last night.
Hiddleston's performance was fantastic. The fact that he sang all the songs himself adds an extra appreciation, even if he doesn't sound exactly like Hank Williams.
The supporting actors were all pretty good too. Maybe not Olsen's best role, though.
Other than that, though? ehhhh. The movie just felt too disjointed, despite only being about Hank's adulthood. And then, the movie just, sort of, ends. I guess that's similar to Hank's life in a way, but for a film? It didn't work for me. There's no real 'peak' to the story as it is told, either.
Maddie Hasson and Marc Abraham were at the screening, which was cool.
2/5. Skip it unless you're just that big of a Hank Williams fan. The songs in the film were great, especially the opening.
