Burnt, previously known as Adam Jones, is an upcoming 2015 American drama film directed by John Wells and written by Steven Knight. The film stars Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller, Omar Sy, Daniel Brühl, Matthew Rhys, Alicia Vikander, Uma Thurman and Emma Thompson. The film is scheduled to be released on October 23, 2015, by The Weinstein Company.
Adam Jones had it all - and lost it. A two-star Michelin chef with the bad habits to match, the former hospitality terrible of the Paris foodmaking scene did everything different every time out, and only ever cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste. To jumpstart his career again, he travels home to London and recruits the best professionals ever in order to get three stars for a top restaurant.

Looks terrible but Chef turned out to be good and those Gordon Ramsey shows seem to be fairly popular so who knows.
Though a movie about the cut throat world of cooking food seems a little silly to me.

Looks way too serious. Chef was breezy and a ton of fun, God of Cookery was silly and over the top, Cooper's own Kitchen Confidential was way underrated (and basically got to play Anthony Bourdain) and fun. This just looks, eh.

Looks way too self-important, just like Bradley Cooper himself has become over the years. He used to seem like a much more fun person.

A passionate chef with a drug problem who borrows money from criminals to open a restaurant? Sounds like a good movie to me.

I really like John Wells... and Steven Knight wrote this. I'll probably check this out if I can. But Halloween weekend is busy.

I didn't think it was awful. The didn't really stick the landing. I thought Bradley Cooper was really good in it though.

Sub-$20m budget with all foreign rights pre-sold, they'll still make money on this dud.

We watched this via Netflix. I had a vague interest from the trailer a few years back, and at only 1h 40m runtime not a big investment.
It's not bad, but it's not really good either. There are some good ideas, the performances are serviceable, and the direction/pacing are good. None of it particularly gelled, and it felt like 15-20 minutes were left on the cutting room floor.
It's as if certain characters and relationships were half baked. If they were given some more time to evolve and take root. Also, I think a key interaction early on -
- really made the rest of the film and relationships feel really weird. And it's not as though they could be trusted, less there be another emotional outburst.
