The First Monthly '20 Years Ago This Month' Thread - August 2015
25/35 years ago was maybe a little too old for us last month, so figured I'd try a 20 years ago thread.
Here's the link to everything released in August of 1995:

I'll add pictures if I can figure out an easy way to do so.
So what did you buy then, buy later, read, still own?

This was around the time where I dropped out of comics for a while. Marvel's comics were speaking to me less and less as I got older, the clone saga was but one of several different storylines beginning to drive me away from their line. I may have picked up Astro City #1 but that might have been it.
Going by the covers, the clean design of the 80s had given way to a much busier aesthetic by 1995. Almost all of the hokier cover elements of prior generations had been weeded out of the industry, which had been a big part of the charm for me.

My first run with the hobby was coming to an end at this point in time. As such, the only three issues on this list that I bought off the stands were Uncanny X-Men, X-Men and X-Force. I couldn't tell you a single thing about any of them other than that was the period in X-Force when the team was living at the x-mansion with all of the other x-teams, thus defeating the whole point of X-Force. I think I dropped all three the next month. As far as I can recall, the only others I've read from that month were Astro City and Starman (both classics) years later in tpb format.
