Felt (6/26/15, D: Jason Banker)
Was browsing some sites and found this movie. Seems a bit too on the nose at times and it has two quotes from Fat Fuck in a Wheelchair, Harry Knowles, so that kind of bothers me. Seems like it did some festivals last year, I think.
Limited release on the 26th but also getting a VOD for the 21st of this month.
I'm always fascinated at how studios cut or alter a trailer to be the safe green and then have a Red band trailer as well. Always interesting alterations in the visuals. Specifically when Amy is next to those flowers.
Spoilering the trailers to not take up so much space.

Amy is hanging on by a thread. Struggling to cope with past sexual trauma and the daily aggressions of a male-dominated society, she creates grotesquely-costumed alter egos that reappropriate the male form. While giving her the sense of power she craves, acting as these characters pushes her further into a world of her own making. When she begins a new relationship with a seemingly good guy, she opens herself up to him – but that vulnerability comes at a dangerous cost, and her alter egos threaten to lash out in explosive violence.

Harry Knowles is in a wheelchair now? What happened? That's a fascinatingly bizarre premise.
This reminds me of the fact that I had some sort of idea that I thought was good a little while ago, and in my infinite wisdom forgot to write it down.

It was July 2012, and Harry Knowles was working up a sweat. Eighteen months earlier, the creator-owner-figurehead of Ain't It Cool News collapsed and had back surgery to treat the effects of spinal stenosis, a chronic condition stemming in part from a 1996 fall that left him intermittently reliant on a wheelchair. So now he was walking on a treadmill at a clinic near his Austin home as part of his physical therapy.
...
On Jan. 24, 1996, Knowles was helping his father pack up after a memorabilia show at the City Coliseum in Austin. Wheeling a heavy dolly down a loading ramp, he tripped on a hose and injured his back, partially paralyzing his legs.
