After-market MXC Prices!!
Anyone remember the show MXC - Most Extreme Elimination Challenge - that used to air on Spike TV? Well, ever since the DVDs for that show went OOP in June 2014 (only 10 months ago) prices on the secondary market have skyrocketed!
Images: Season 1&2, Volume 3, Volumes 4&5
There were 5 seasons but only seasons 1-4 were released on DVD. S1 and S2 were released in their entirety. S3 was split into two volumes, S4 was released as volume 5. All episodes from the first 4 seasons are on DVD except for 3x01 (MXC "Almost Live" special from Orlando) and 4x03/4x04 ("Best of MXC" clip shows).
Count yourself fortunate if you purchased one of these for street value. Used copies are going for $50-$140 on sites like Amazon, eBay, and many others.

I own the 1&2 combo set and came this close to selling it to Half Price Books a few weeks ago. We decided to hang onto it and now I'm glad I did.
We did find it streaming somewhere, not sure if it's on Netflix or Hulu.

I'm glad I got the entire series when I did.
I really needed this show to get me through the breaks between "Wipeout" seasons.

Most thinly-traded OOP DVDs can jump in perceived value these days, due to the constant jockeying by competing pricing bots. I am not sure actual sales are getting made at those levels.

Sales do happen at these levels, I sold 3 or so BRs last year in the $150 range.

I didn't even know that they made these. I wish I had as I would have bought these since I am in one of the shows. This was a show made in Japan in the 80s (it was called Takeshi's Castle). I was stationed there for the Marine Corps and they invited about 80 people from my company to the show. I think in this "cut" of the show I was introduced as a "Swedish Guy". I wiped out on the barrel roll.

It was a lot of fun. You wouldn't believe the waiver we had to sign. Stuff like, you wouldn't sue if you broke an arm or a leg or caught a disease from the nasty water they had in some of the events. They also paid us like the equivalent of $1000 just for participating and $10,000 if you won. One of the guys from my company did win the game.
