Given all the garbage lately, I am going to avoid buying at Amazon unless i have GCs. They are playing too many games.

Seeing the price change approval email was the last straw. They started variable pricing and evidently they only like it when the customer gets screwed.

Amen, unless I have a GC, I will pay more @ buy.com rather than give my money to those F'rs at Amazon.con

I guess it's a question of which f'ers are worse. I think buy.com has some of the worst online. I do think, however, that if the price difference is $2 or less, I would go with 800.com, even if it were more expensive.

Between Amazon and Buy, I will now go with whoever is cheapest (I used to lean toward Amazon, but no longer, given the new attitude).

Well, it's all swell and dandy here !

But if I am not mistaken buy.com IS NOT shipping abroad (excpet the UK)which IMO very foolish...

I live in Israel were I must say I just love Amazon, They were so good I did my first ever E-commerce with them, I agree about their recent price "experience" is not nice, but you gotta love the way their site is so friendly.

Amazon, IMHO, is in the same group of companies that people "love to hate" like MS, AOL.

What's you opinion about this?
BTW, how can i clean (reset) up all my cookies in IE 5.5?

Yea I just love the way they tell you to bend
over and screw you with their pricing scheme.
At least MS & AOl don't change their prices every 2 hours..

Unless they give our free DVDs (which they won't, which they shouldn't), no more Amazon.com for me.

Freeride GC's + Amazon $10 Flyer = The only way I order from Amazon. Tax and shipping would kill me if I ordered out of pocket.

Amazon's prices arent that hot to begin with anymore either...you can only have so much "great customer service" despite all these scandalous foulups and high prices to make people shop with them. They've lost my business unless i have gc's. I think im swaying towards dvdplanet as my next choice of place of business. they seem like a pretty decent retailer, no coupons but no bullsh*t.

I still reckon that Amazon is no better or worse than the fifty thousand other online companies.

They all have their good points and bad points.

i think im sick of online retailers period. I only shop online if i have a g/c or really good coupon. Bad customer service, extremely long waits and not-so-good pricing have made me more willing to go to circuit city and pay $15.99 and get it that same day.

I concur -- I better be getting a damn good deal before I shop at Amazon. And for when I shop there, I'm prepared. Other Amazon shoppers might be interested in this product as well: .WAV (sound) file

Honestly, I counldn't disagree with you more. I don't think that many people have the same opinion of amazon as they do Microsoft. In fact, before the recent pricing fiascos (not just because I didn't get my DVDs), I was a DEVOUT amazon customer. They have the most well designed site, the best CSRs, and the best service in general. However, their recent business practices are absolutly reprehensible, and they do not deserve to get ONE penny from me, or any other priviously loyal customer that they SCREWED.

No... the only way that they will EVER get my business again is if I KNOW that I am making them LOSE money (I.E. Tons of GCs).

Also, all the companies that you have listed that we "love to hate," have all given us DAMN good reason to hate them. Their crooked business practices are known to more than just the highly educated consumer...

So, a bunch of people who want something for nothing, and will only shop with gc's are not going to shop at Amazon in the future. Maybe this will allow them to make some money, rather than giving away the store, and operate in the black for us stockholders. Good!!! Bye bye. Have a good life.
