I thought it was great. Really gut wrenching , sad, beautiful movie. With great performances across the board. The best performance of Julia Roberts career actually.
I don't enjoy most everything Ryan Murphy has done but he knocked this out of the park. So did Mark Ruffalo. He gave a raw, emotionally charged performance, so much so that on a few occasions I thought he was going to turn green and ruin his shirt.
Anyways, really good film.

TV Movie. It premiered on HBO a few months ago, Ryan Murphy was visibly pissed when his movie lost out, repeatedly, at the Emmy awards. It wound up winning Makeup and Outstanding TV Movie, but lost all it's acting nominations, directing, writing, etc; which went to Fargo and Sherlock.
