Alright. We all know this one. Rocky dos, yo. Anyway...I really loved this flick as a kid. It was the rocky film I grew up on. For some reason this played a lot when I was a kid. Haven't seen it since like the late 1990s.
Watching it today... I'm bored by it. Rocky is a fucking great classic flick. Then this one starts...and... It's dull to me. It has pacing issues I think. It's just boring. Cliche narrative and etc. It has some heart in it but it comes off clunky to me. Up until the training montage onward does this thing have any steam going. I dunno. I'm really bored watching this thing. I must not have really remembered it cuz I still loved it fondly still I saw it again right now.

Rocky wins this time. That was enough for me to love it as a kid. I was sorely pissed off when I saw the first movie and it ended with him losing. The sequel gave me what I wanted.

My 2nd favorite Rocky movie. Yes, there is a giant step down when watched right after 1, but I felt it continued the story well and was pretty well grounded compared to the silly III and IV.

Wasn't it the same movie as Rocky? I mean I loved the fact that he got the car and the jacket and he was just a dumb guy that came into a little money.
III and IV were my movies growing up. The first 2 always seemed so old to me.

Well, if we rank them in terms of preference:
Rocky > Rocky IV > Rocky III > Rocky Balboa > Rocky II > Rocky V
Rocky > Rocky IV > Rocky III > Rocky Balboa > Rocky II > Rocky V

I've never been the biggest fan of the franchise in general to be honest. Rocky is great but I can really take or leave the sequels. I'll watch them if they're on tv and nothing else is on but they don't do much for me overall. The best one is probably Rocky Balboa. Rocky IV is entertaining enough I suppose but its more in a cheesy way than being an actual good film.

For me it is...
Rocky
Rocky Balboa
Rocky IV
Rocky III
Rocky II
Me taking a massive shit while drunk
Rocky V
---------
III and IV are very close in quality to me. thought IV is IV cuz.... it's Rocky IV.

The Rocky Saga are my favorite movies of all time. I binge marathon watch them every single year. I love them all. (Even Rocky V... I don't love it but I don't hate it either.)
My rankings:
I > Balboa >>> III > II >>>>>> IV >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> V
III and II are fairly close, but III wins out simply because it has Mr. T and THUNDERLIPS THE ULTIMATE MALE VERSUS ROCKY THE ULTIMATE MEATBALL

Ahem...the correct order is:
Rocky
Rocky Balboa
Rocky II
Rocky III
Rocky IV
Rocky V
I love Rocky II...I think it has the best fight of the entire series, and the running montage where all the kids are running with Rocky is, I believe, one of the best movie scenes of all-time. I don't know if it was Stallone's idea or someone else to have the children of Philly join him in his run, but that was a freakin' brilliant idea - that scene still gives me chills when I watch it - it's wonderful.

Rocky IV is the greatest feature length music video of all time!

Yeah. I don't hate it but since it treads the same lines and doens't much with it either. It's weak to me. At least III and IV were going places and it was awesome.

Like others have said, Rocky IV is the Rocky I grew up with. Re-watching it as a grown up it's really a cheesy movie. The soundtrack is fantastic though!
Rocky Balboa is the best sequel. It's better than it has any right to be and ends the Rocky series on a high note. The scene where he talks about how life is seeing how many times you can get hit while still moving forward is the best, most emotional scene in the whole series.

Rocky and Rocky II, then Balboa. III is pure cheese whiz crap. IV is a little more tolerable than III but still basically crap. V doesn't belong anywhere...and everyone should be ashamed they have watched it. I am.

The Original Rocky is a classic that still holds up today, and the sequels are very formula-driven that are inferior yet fun to watch. Rocky II probably has the best training montage as Rocky running through the streets of Philly with all of the kids following him still gives me goosebumps today.
And it has the best line from Adrian when she wakes up from the coma, "I want you to do one thing.....WIN!"
Mickey, "Well what are we waiting for!"
