Modern Family (S6E06) - "Won't You Be Our Neighbor" - 10/22/14
ARE THE DUNPHYS DESTINED TO TRADE OUT THEIR SAD NEIGHBOR WITH BAD NEIGHBORS? ON ABC'S "MODERN FAMILY"
Steve Zahn ("Treme"), Andrea Anders ("Better Off Ted") and Tyne Daly ("Judging Amy") Guest Star
"Won't You Be Our Neighbor" - Phil is selling the house next door and he and Claire are excited by the prospect of having wonderful new neighbors, but that quickly turns into panic when a loud and obnoxious couple (guest stars Steve Zahn and Andrea Anders) come to look at the house. Jay forbids Manny to see his new girlfriend when he realizes she's the granddaughter of his biggest business rival, leading to a clash of the closet titans. Elsewhere, Mitch and Cam are determined to switch Lily out of Mrs. Plank's (guest star Tyne Daly) class since she is known to rule with an iron fist - not to mention she scares them too, on "Modern Family," WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 22 (9:00-9:31 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Just by reading the description I am inclined to agree. Throw Lily off a cliff and make Mitch and Cam human beings instead of caricatures and stereotypes.

The comment at the beginning about the "gardening tool" made me laugh out loud extremely hard. Scared my son who was reading in the other room. Overall the best episode this season, not even close.

'Eh Cam & Mitchell's story is one any parent can relate to and actually didn't rely on caricatures or stereotypes. Unfortunately like most of their plots, it was light on laughs... okay no laughs.
Per usual, Phil was gold throughout. Steve Zahn as a neighbor has potential, then again so did Kevin Hart and where did that end up?
Love the 'tension' line at the end.

The writers have no idea what to do with Luke anymore, but I think the show has rebounded pretty well this season.

Good stuff in this one. I always love the various closet-making competitors.
And Lily's resignation to deal with spiders made me laugh.

Not a bad episode. I've got a huge crush on Andrea Anders, so it was great to see her again. Curious to see if she and Zahn stick around for a while.

Cam and Mitch were blah as usual but I thought everything was great.
Hayley is sneaky funny. She's gone from being the ditz in earlier seasons to basically being the straight man to Phil and Claire's antics. It works pretty well. He reaction to Phil and Claire throwing themselves at the other couple was great.

The "Not now Gomez!" line had me cracking up. Best episode in maybe two seasons.
