Do you consider Fincher's The Game a horror movie?
i tried to show this to my mom because she loved Gone Girl and I recommended another Fincher movie that is one of my favorites at least.

she had me turn it off and told me she doesn't like horror movies (that all horror movies don't just need blood and guts). i told her this was not a horror movie, but more psychological terror or suspense. but, certainly not horror.

what do you think?

It's a psychological thriller. Nothing about it fits the criteria for horror.

I think it could be seen as a horror movie for rich people because it plays on their biggest fear: having all their money stolen

Why The Game (Fincher) is considered not as horror?

Because it's a suspense thriller. I watched Wait Until Dark last night but didn't count it in the horror challenge.

I do not. In fact, I think Gone Girl fits more in the horror genre than The Game, though they're both psychological thrillers.

Not a pure horror movie, but Se7en could easily be considered thriller/horror and Alien 3 sci-fi/horror.

I consider it a suspense movie. I remember when Bravo did that 100 Scariest Movie Moments series and it was included on there. I was kind of surprised.

Alien3 and Se7en both have horror elements to them but I'd first and foremost call them Sci-Fi and Thriller movies respectively.
