The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water

"SpongeBob goes on a quest to discover a stolen recipe that takes him to our dimension, our world, where he tangles with a pirate."
... hilarity ensues.
I must say even though I feel like this is riding the outer cusps of SpongeBob's popularity (why so late?) - the trailer I saw the other day before 'The Boxtrolls' looked utterly hilarious. The 3D also looked stunning.
curious to see if the final full length movie delivers what the trailer suggests

I'll be there opening weekend just like I was for the first film.
I'm one of the who thinks the show is like a fine wine and has gotten more funny with age. Trailer doesn't disappoint.

Eh, I don't know about this CG Spongebob. But I suppose it was inevitable.
I like Antonio Banderas as the Pirate.

Saw it.
My nieces loved it. Didnt care for the live action segment.
Overall if you're child or you're drunk and/or high you'll enjoy the hell out of this film.
There's definitely some trippy scenes in there.

I've seen episodes of the show but never have been too into it. The trailer for this sort of looked funny in a weird way though. Might check it out when it hits Blu-ray.

I'm going tonight. I'm really looking forward to it. A $50+ mill opening for a franchise entering its 16th year isn't too shabby.

It's alright. Nothing special and drags a bit. I liked the live-action stuff and expected that there would be a lot more of it than there actually was.
Antonio Banderas was certainly game for playing this as silly as possible. Like him a lot.

This was bar-none, the worst kids movie I've seen in 10 years? Maybe ever. Granted, I can only take so much Spongebob at home, but this was atrocious... and trippy. The kids loved it though and I guess that's all that matters.

Very fun experience and I look forward to watching it again at home in "enhanced" mode.

it's funny, the 2004 movie to me was just okay, but this new film is far more funnier and visually an utter kick in the face with the 3D aspect - it was so silly, but oh so entertaining. It ain't high art, but it's pure goofy eye candy
