I have two daughters, who will be 6 and 9 within the next couple months, and they like Wonder Woman. I was trying to find something age appropriate for them, but nothing was jumping out at me. Can anyone recommend any TPBs?
I've gotten them a bunch of Marvel Age/Adventures digests, did DC ever have a similar line?

DC has had some digests of Batman/Justice League animated stuff within that past 10 years that are really good. But not a ton of them.

DC recently started a digital first Wonder Woman anthology book that will start appearing in print issues soon (if it hasn't already). Lots of done-in-one, largely continuity-free stories:

Look into DC's Tiny Titans line. There were several TPBs but I don't know if they're out of print now. Li'l Gotham is also all ages and has two TPBs out. On the Marvel side you might also want to check out Young Marvel: Little X-Men, Little Avengers, Big Trouble TPB.

If you're looking for good all-ages comics for them, BOOM! Studios (and their imprints kaBOOM! and BOOM! Kids) and Archaia have several critically acclaimed all ages books. Mouse Guard, Rust, Fraggle Rock, some Snoopy/Peanuts, Garfield, Adventure Time & Regular Show (if you think those two are appropriate despite being loved by stoners). If you go to the BOOM! website you'll get a better idea of what books are all-ages and what ones aren't.

I think Robert Kirkman's Super Dinosaur book is also all ages.

The DC Animated Universe comics have some kid friendly things that are basically in line with the cartoon shows, but some of the newer comic-only continuations of those shows have become a bit adult. You can read for yourself here: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2014/08/...yond-spoilers/

Oh, and Bongo puts out a Spongebob comic that my daughter really likes. She's only 2, so she's not actually reading, but she'll sit and look at the pictures for a surprisingly long time.

I really like Tiny Titans (which features not one but two Wonder Girls), but I don't know how great it is for kids. A lot of the humor in the issues I read seem based on at least a passing familiarity with the DC Universe and Titans history.

On a side note, did those DC Universe shorts every get collected into a Blu-ray or DVD? My daughter loved Super Best Friends Forever...

Go out and buy the Lynda Carter show on DVD for them. Your best bet for a Wonder Woman that appeals to younger girls are probably the animated incarnations from the various Superfriends or Justice League, though she's never had her own solo show.

For comics you almost would have to go back to Silver Age stuff, a fairly sanitized heroic version before she became a symbol for Feminism and the modern woman in the 70s and 80s.

Actually, feminists hated Wonder Woman in the early 70's when she lost her powers. They thought it made her weak and Denny O'Neil was under pressure to bring her back to her former self. Gloria Steinem even wrote an article in Ms. Magazine saying it took feminism backwards. To me it seemed like it was helping their movement because it showed her as being more smart without her superpowers; besides she was a bad ass martial artist. I guess feminist didn't see it that way and WW got her powers back.

I have the complete run and the stories still hold up; especially during the end with Giordano doing the art with a little help from Adams.

I recently read this Bronze Age collection and I think it's pretty safe for the young 'uns.



This series tends to be pretty safe and pretty solid. I haven't read this one myself, though.

I considered the earlier stories, figuring they'd be more kid friendly than recent stuff. I'm just really surprised they don't really have any Wonder Woman stuff aimed at younger audiences, I'm sure I'm not the only one with young girls that would be interested in it.

There's also a new anthology series (digital first) that's out of new 52 continuity (so a big bonus from my perspective). I'm not sure it's for younger kids, but maybe something to take a look at, the creative teams look pretty good (first story is from Simone and Van Sciver):
