I didn't get around to seeing Captain America: Winter Soldier, but am really excited about Guardians of the Galaxy, and am hoping to see it next week. Is there anything I would miss out on or get spoilered by if I see GotG without seeing Winter Soldier?

I'd say you don't have to have seen any of the MCU films to enjoy GotG. The few things that were introduced in past films are explained again so its not like you'd have no idea what they are.

First off, Tammy was absolutely hilarious!!!!

Secondly, I would actively encourage you (or anyone) not to bother with Winter Soldier. Easily the 3rd worst Marvel movie and teh most disappointing one yet.

FTR, I wasn't worried about my enjoyment of GotG being affected, I was mostly worried about getting anything spoilered from Winter Soldier, or if there was some little bit in Winter Soldier that led into GotG. I'm the kind of guy that won't even watch trailers for a movie I want to see so I know as little as possible going in.
