I bought a book with one today. Anyone spot any good overstock DVD's/BD's? I'm going to hit a different store tomorrow...

Picked up Nightmare Before Christmas Blu on one of the 40% off coupons for about $10; back today for another item, probably Community S4. Next Sunday is the 50%. Half Price does this several times a year, so it's worth signing up for their e mails.

I take it this is a B&M only thing?

Well, they do sell stuff themselves on the marketplace, so at first I thought maybe it applied to those items on the website.

Unless something has changed since I last looked, their "marketplace" is really a disguised version of Albiris.
The local store still had a few Joan Crawford & Marx Bros boxes the other day (DVD), I may go look & see if any are left.

At the local hpb, the only Crawford box had a floater (There was very few sealed titles of any interest to me), so used the 40% on a sealed Frank Zappa concert DVD. The guy screwed it up, & the dvd ended up costing me $1.14.

I was able to use my 40% coupon yesterday to get Bates Motel season 1 (with the cards and slipcover) for $15. Not too bad, and unfortunately there was not really anything else I wanted.

I found a copy of Arrow's Hell Comes to Frogtown BD for thirty bucks after the coupon, but couldn't pull the trigger because a) it was missing the booklet and b) it's still a lot of money for Hell Comes to Frogtown.
Depending on how my week goes, I might head back there on Sunday and pick it up at 50% if it's still around.

HCTF at a Half Price Books? I would have a hard time not biting. But isn't that sucker Region B anyhow?

The local HPB has that set on blu-ray without the statue (in quantity) for $29.99 before the coupon discount. I already have the dvd box, which is good enough for me.

I found a DVD box set of S Club 7 at my store, in French packaging, all discs PAL. Half Price Books will buy anything, so I'm sure they'd have some region B stuff from time to time.

Yeah, I picked up the Arrow Dawn of the Dead at another HPB location and see Region 2 and 3 stuff all the time, usually stuff that hadn't yet (or was just) released in R1.
I've seen HCTF on lists of Arrow BD's that can play on region-locked sets, but the iffyness of it was another reason why I didn't go for it.

Yep, their wholesale division even brings in PAL R2 DVD's from time to time in quantity. Bet they get a TON of customer returns on those!
