I was just at FYE and they had the combo pack of G.I. Joe: Retaliation on sale for $7.99. Looked online and didn't see it listed for that price though.

Pretty big markdown for anyone who's interested though.

Picked that up about a week ago at FYE in Hermitage, PA, couldn't believe the price. Other places regularly have it for anywhere from $19.99 to $24.99, $7.99 was like a belated Black Friday price...

Yeah, I wished that I had liked it enough to take advantage. Was hoping Gravity might be on some super sale too but no luck.

Say no more, we haven't seen it yet. We liked the first GI Joe, hopefully this one will be at least as good. If not, I can probably sell it on Ebay for more than $7.99 (+ tax). Hope we like it.

Quick question: Would it be a good idea to watch The Rise of Cobra again before we watch Retaliation, just to reaquaint ourselves with the GI Joe universe, or does Retaliation pretty much stand on its own in that regard?

I don't think it's necessary. Neither film is heavy on needing pre-knowledge of the franchise. Not that I'm an expert, but it sure doesn't seem like the movie makers care much at all about what's gone on before.

They practically stand alone, both movies. The sequel is much better than the first one.
